Vice President, Marketing
Job location

Job description
Construction is the second-largest industry in the world—nearly 4x the size of SaaS—yet it still operates without the automated feedback loops that modern software teams rely on. Without real-time observability, issues are detected too late, contributing to over $3 Trillion in annual global waste.

Doxel brings computer vision and AI to construction, giving teams real-time visibility into progress, risk, and execution. From hospitals to data centers, and from field leaders to executive teams, Doxel is used every day to support better decisions and faster delivery. Our platform is trusted by industry leaders including Shell, Genentech, HCA Healthcare, Kaiser, Turner, and Layton.

Doxel’s automated progress tracking solution keeps teams aligned with hard facts that leave no ambiguity on where the project is today, where it will be tomorrow and what decisions need to be made to land it on schedule and on budget. This enables our customers to deliver projects, on average, 11% ahead of schedule with up to 16% savings on monthly cash flow.

Backed by Insight Partners and Andreessen Horowitz and with a rapidly growing team of engineers, scientists, construction veterans, and Enterprise go-to-market teams, we're driven to help our customers win.

Join us as we continue our journey to transform the $15T Construction Industry!

The Role

Doxel is looking for a strategic, commercially oriented Vice President of Marketing who can help Doxel define and lead a new category at the intersection of AI, operational insights, and construction. This role defines what that category is called, how it's positioned, and how the market comes to understand it. The ideal candidate is strongest in positioning, narrative, product marketing, category creation, and executive-level communication, with enough fluency across demand generation, field marketing, ABM, and corporate marketing to build and lead the full function.

This role partners closely with sales, product, and the executive team to make Doxel easier to understand, harder to compete against, and more visible in the market.

The VP, Marketing will report to the CEO.

Your Day To Day
  • Category Leadership: Define, name, and lead the category Doxel is creating at the intersection of AI and construction
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the overarching marketing strategy for Doxel, ensuring alignment with company goals and category-creation objectives
  • Product Marketing Expertise: Own positioning, differentiation, persona messaging, and customer narrative — making Doxel's story simple, credible, and commercially useful. Partner with sales so every deck, pricing conversation, proposal, and executive narrative reflects cohesive, differentiated messaging — updated in real time as the market shifts
  • Corporate Marketing & Thought Leadership: Own category narrative, brand, and market-level storytelling; establish Doxel as a thought leader on operational insight, AI adoption, and construction industry change through original content and points of view
  • Demand Generation & Field Marketing: Support teams across both — directing demand gen toward a concentrated, high-value ICP (e.g., ENR 400 contractors, major owners) through account-based, sales-aligned programs, and building field marketing motions (executive dinners, regional forums, user conferences etc.) that turn customers into visible proof points and industry heroes
  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Recruit, coach, and lead a lean but senior team across product marketing, corporate marketing, demand generation, and field marketing — developing the people on the team and fostering a culture of ownership and strong execution
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a strategic partner to product, sales, and the executive team, influencing roadmap and narrative decisions and driving pipeline and revenue growth
  • What Success Looks Like
    In the first 6–12 months:
  • A sharpened Doxel narrative and category strategy
  • Clear product positioning across AI, construction, owner, and GC audiences
  • Cohesive sales messaging across decks, proposals, pricing, and executive conversations
  • A consistent, differentiated market point of view that sales is fully enabled on
  • Increased volume and quality of thought leadership content
  • A distribution strategy spanning digital, field, PR, and customer channels

  • Over 24 months:
  • Doxel's industry awareness roughly 10x today's level
  • Doxel recognized as the category leader
  • Doxel recognized as one of the most credible voices bringing AI to construction
  • A repeatable, scalable commercial engine: messaging, enablement, and content that keep pace with the market, supported by AI-driven reporting and optimization rather than manual, after-the-fact analysis
  • A marketing team with real depth across product marketing, corporate marketing, demand gen, and field marketing
  • What You Bring
  • A track record of pioneering market-defining strategy — you've helped a company define a category from scratch, win in a crowded market, expand into a new segment, or reposition its narrative, with real evidence of business impact: category awareness lift, pipeline/revenue acceleration, win-rate improvement, sales cycle compression, or a documented shift in analyst/media/customer narrative
  • Experience building positioning and messaging for multiple stakeholder personas in a complex sale — able to make something persona-specific, simple enough for reps, sophisticated enough for executive buyers, and credible to end users
  • Executive presence — you operate credibly with executives, customers, and create clarity out of ambiguity, and have strong commercial judgment. You optimize for the whole company, not just marketing, and build trust quickly
  • Experience playing a meaningful role in scaling a company's go-to-market engine through a significant growth stage
  • A talent magnet and hands-on leader — able to attract and manage top marketing talent with credibility across marketing functions, while also building and executing alongside a lean, senior team rather than purely directing others
  • AI orientation with direct application to marketing operations — you understand AI as a force reshaping how companies operate, and you've directed or overseen the use of AI tools for marketing reporting, attribution, or campaign optimization
  • Prior experience at a high-growth, category defining startup, ideally within the Enterprise B2B SaaS environment
  • A curious, strong communicator and strategic thinker — able to synthesize what you learn into a credible point of view, produce high-quality content under tight deadlines, and drive multiple workstreams with a bias for action
  • 12+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a track record across the areas above
  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience in high-ASP enterprise sales motions, ideally with deal sizes above $100K
  • Experience in complex vertical markets
  • Experience with owner/GC or construction-adjacent audience
