This role
The Controller is responsible for our local internal accounting function with a primary focus on Accounts Payable.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Operations team to implement new NetSuite automations and best-practices in the Merchant AP process.
Working along different departments such as treasury, finance, etc.
Manage vendor information and input new vendors in NetSuite.
Communicate with merchants to resolve issues fulfilling purchase orders in NetSuite.
Prepare batches for payment in NetSuite, and partner with the financial analyst to estimate weekly cash flows.
Maintain the merchant AP and AR ledgers in NetSuite and resolve overdue receivables and payables.
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to month-end balances.
Help build out a process to reconcile and report on cash balances weekly.
Partner with the external accounting team on month-end close by managing information requests and resolving outstanding issues.
Reconcile and book complex or non-standard transactions in NetSuite.
Manage tax compliance checklists and SAT audit requests.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
12-15 years of experience in public accounting or in a role managing a high-volume of AP transactions.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team toward achieving ambitious goals.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive operational excellence.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.). Prior experience working with NetSuite and SQL is a plus.
Superb attention to detail and time management skills.
