Role Overview
Seated is looking for a Recruiter & People Operations Specialist to help us find and hire great people while supporting the day-to-day employee experience in our NYC office.
This role will spend approximately 90% of its time on recruiting. You’ll own full-cycle searches across the company, partnering directly with hiring managers to understand their needs, build strong candidate pipelines, manage interview processes, and drive searches from kickoff through accepted offer.
The remaining 10% of the role will focus on supporting People Operations in our NYC office, including onboarding, employee experience, events, and other day-to-day needs.
This is a great opportunity for a recruiter who is ready to take meaningful ownership of hiring while continuing to develop their recruiting expertise and gain broader exposure to People Operations in a fast-moving startup.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting across business, go-to-market, and technical roles from kickoff through accepted offer
- Partner directly with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, define candidate profiles, and establish effective interview processes
- Build strong candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing, outbound outreach, referrals, and inbound applications
- Review applications, conduct recruiter screens, and evaluate candidates against role requirements
- Manage candidates throughout the interview process and deliver consistent, timely communication
- Drive interview processes forward by collecting feedback, identifying blockers, and keeping hiring teams on track
- Maintain accurate and organized candidate pipelines in our ATS
- Partner with hiring managers to calibrate on candidate quality and adjust searches as needed
- Manage reference checks, offer approvals, and offer delivery
- Deliver a thoughtful and high-quality candidate experience throughout the recruiting process
- Help identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, tools, templates, and overall efficiency
- Support new hire onboarding and first-day logistics in our NYC office
- Help coordinate team events, celebrations, and employee experience initiatives
- Serve as an on-the-ground People resource for our NYC office and surface employee or office needs to the Head of People Operations
- Support additional People Operations projects and office-related needs as they arise
Requirements
- 2-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
- Experience independently managing searches from sourcing through offer
- Strong proactive sourcing skills and experience building candidate pipelines
- Experience partnering directly with hiring managers throughout the recruiting process
- Strong candidate assessment and interviewing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent searches, candidates, and priorities
- Comfortable driving processes forward and following up with stakeholders when needed
- Reliable follow-through and a strong sense of ownership
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change
- Excited to be an active, in-person part of the employee experience in our NYC office
- Ability to work from our NYC office 5 days per week
Preferred Experience
- Experience recruiting in a startup or high-growth environment
- Experience recruiting across multiple functions, including go-to-market and technical roles
- Experience with an ATS and modern sourcing tools
- Experience supporting onboarding, employee experience, or other People Operations initiatives
