Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

General Purpose: 

Member of the Global Mobility team with primary responsibility to provide program support for Global Mobility Immigration and Relocation (Domestic/Int’l/Assignment) Programs.  

Principle Accountabilities:

The Global Mobility Specialist supports the day-to-day immigration responsibilities, facilitating the process for both internal foreign nationals and identified foreign national candidates to obtain work authorization and/or other immigration needs. Specifically, works closely with the Global Mobility Manager in all immigration and relocation related matters. The role may fluctuate to meet program/project (Relo/Int’l) needs.

The Mobility Specialist will be the primary point of contact for the immigration and international and domestic relocation programs in Malaysia, and will support the relocation program in Asia, working closely with the Global Mobility Manager.  

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Global Mobility Senior Specialist located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

What a typical day looks like:

Immigration

•        Knowledge of immigration law and overall immigration processes in Malaysia

•        Work closely with local immigration vendor on conducting assessments for hiring foreign nationals.

•        Obtaining approvals for extensions or change of status with management and HR and working closely with the immigration vendor on the extensions.

•        Inform immigration firm about employees’ change of employment status for immigration purposes.

•        Review, track and approval all invoices for all immigration services. 

•        Work with immigration vendor to maintain employer registration with relevant governmental authority

Relocation 

• Oversees day-to-day international and domestic relocation of new hires in Malaysia
• Provides support for hires and interface with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Payroll, and HR business Partners for all relocation queries.
• Prepare relocation cost estimates, and net-to-net calculation (if needed)
• Follows up regularly with employees to obtain feedback on relocation process and experience. 
• Ensures relocation documentation and web information updated on a regular basis.
• Knowledgeable of relocation policies for Malaysia domestic and international and may assist with global relocation policy interpretation and application.

International Assignments 

• Provides assistance to the Global Mobility team as requested.
• Knowledgeable of global and local policy and program processes.
• Provide assistance on the updating of international assignment documentation.
• Maintains data and information for reporting purposes.
• Assist in international assignment, permanent transfer, extended business trip and new hire administration (cost projection, analysis and general program development and administration).
• Understands tax compliance program and supports tax preparation services with authorization lists, collecting compensation information from payroll and other relevant sources.
• Coordinate tax equalization settlements, payments and collections.
• Assist in oversight of frequent business travelers, maintaining calendars and adding to authorization lists.
• Coordinate with payroll and Relocation Company on international assignment payments and policy implementation.
• Coordinate with US and EMEA counterparts on assignment and transfer deliverables. 

Frequent Business Travelers

• Manages communications to employees and data collection for application of DTA exemption in Malaysia
• undefinedData ManagementManage input of data and output of reports from global mobility databases.Provide vendors and HR/payroll groups with data to handle payroll calculations/reporting.Responsible for data collection cycles associated with compensation and benefits surveys and tax preparation season.Follow up regularly with employees to obtain feedback on relocation process and experience.Ensure relocation documentation and web information updated on a regular basis.Assist with regular and ad-hoc requests for mobility (immigration, relocation, tax) cost reports.Assist with the billing process of mobility expenses when required.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a Human Resource related function. Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of Human Resources or related experience.
• Functional knowledge, education background or relevant working experience required.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
• Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.
• Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.
• Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/ processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes
