What you'll do
- Run and maintain the compliance risk assessment and risk register across Fasset's products and markets
- Monitor transactions and account activity for fraud, investigate alerts and escalate cases where needed
- Design, test and tune fraud rules and detection scenarios with Product, Engineering and Data
- Identify and analyse fraud trends such as account takeover, card fraud, promotion and referral abuse, and mule accounts, and recommend controls to address them
- Carry out control testing, document findings and track remediation actions to closure
- Assess compliance and fraud risk for new products, features and partners before launch
- Maintain fraud case records, incident logs and evidence of control effectiveness
- Prepare regular risk and fraud management information (MI) for the Head of Compliance
- Support internal audits and regulatory reviews with documentation and evidence
- Work with Customer Support on fraud-related customer cases and chargebacks
- Recommend improvements to risk and fraud systems, processes and tooling
What you'll bring
Must have
- 3–5 years' experience in fraud, compliance risk, financial crime or risk operations at a fintech, bank, payments company or virtual asset service provider (VASP)
- Hands-on experience with fraud detection or transaction monitoring tools (for example Sumsub, Unit21, Sardine, Feedzai or similar)
- Experience with risk assessments, control testing and risk frameworks
- Strong analytical skills, with confidence working with data (SQL or advanced Excel)
- The ability to turn findings into clear, practical recommendations for technical and non-technical teams
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organisation across multiple time zones
- A proactive, detail-oriented team player
Nice to have
- Virtual assets or crypto fraud experience, including blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis or Elliptic
- Card fraud or chargeback experience
- A relevant certification (CFE, ICA or similar)
- Knowledge of UAE regulatory requirements (CBUAE or VARA)
