The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the overall financial strategy, planning, and management of the company. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee financial operations, risk management, and capital structure while ensuring financial health and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-growth, capital-intensive industries and a strong background in advanced manufacturing, hardware, or additive manufacturing (AM) technologies.
Essential Job Functions:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support growth, innovation, and profitability.
Advise the CEO and executive team on financial performance, risk management, and investment decisions.
Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, cost control, and operational efficiencies in the additive manufacturing industry.
Develop long-term financial models to align with the company’s growth objectives, including new market expansion and product development.
Financial Planning, Reporting & Compliance
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Oversee financial reporting (GAAP, IFRS, SEC, or other regulatory standards as applicable), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare reports for the board of directors, investors, and stakeholders, providing clear financial insights and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, audits, and financial governance requirements.
Capital Management & Fundraising
Manage capital structure, financing strategies, and cash flow to support operational and strategic initiatives.
Lead fundraising efforts, including venture capital, private equity, debt financing, and grant opportunities for research & development (R&D).
Establish strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to secure funding for expansion and innovation.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) & Strategic Partnerships
Evaluate potential M&A opportunities, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships to accelerate growth.
Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and integration planning for acquisitions in the additive manufacturing space.
Assess intellectual property (IP) valuation, licensing deals, and technology investments to strengthen competitive advantage.
Risk Management & Compliance
Identify and mitigate financial risks, currency fluctuations, and market volatility in global operations.
Oversee supply chain and procurement financial strategies, ensuring cost control in raw materials and AM production.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100 (Aerospace), and ITAR (Defense/Automotive).
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
CPA required (or equivalent certification such as CFA)
Experience, Skills &Competencies
10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries.
Experience in hardware, materials science, or additive manufacturing companies is a strong plus.
Proven track record in fundraising, investor relations, and capital markets.
Deep understanding of cost accounting, revenue recognition, and financial modeling in manufacturing environments.
Strong expertise in venture funding, M&A, and strategic financial planning.
Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite), financial analytics, and AI-driven financial tools.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with executive and investor stakeholders.
