Luminate Wireless is developing an end-to-end distributed mobile network system to make it easier to add capacity and assured mobile services for enterprises of any size. In this system, key management-plane, control as well as data-plane functions in the mobile network are moved to a centralized and virtualized entity that can be implemented as a private or a public cloud. The Luminate system allows capacity to be added easily to venues in a “Wi-Fi like” manner by deploying 4G LTE access points using existing Ethernet and IP backhaul.
