Hotplate is a platform that allows home-cooks to open a restaurant in their kitchen and serve the people around them. Restaurants are dying, their cost of operation is too high, and eating out is becoming more and more expensive because of it. Hotplate creates a restaurant model with no upfront cost and no extraneous overhead (which combined make up 50-80% of the price on the menu). Those savings are passed to the consumer. Hotplate restaurants can charge less and make more. Consumers will pay less for the same quality of food and an experience that is markedly more communal, fulfilling, and unique than a traditional restaurant.
