Rimkus is looking for a curious, dependable Systems Engineer I to administer and support our Microsoft cloud and on-premises environment. This hands-on role combines reliable day-to-day operations with participation in approved Microsoft 365 implementations and coordination of assigned technical projects. The ideal candidate brings practical Microsoft administration and implementation experience, strong SharePoint and Teams skills, project management ability, and a willingness to learn, take initiative, and follow through.
What you will do
- Microsoft 365. Administer and support Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, licensing, permissions, and external collaboration. Investigate service issues and keep users informed.
- Teams administration. Administer Microsoft Teams through the Teams Admin Center, including team and user settings, messaging and meeting policies, app permissions, external access, and Teams Phone/calling settings. Troubleshoot service, policy, and calling issues.
- SharePoint administration. Manage existing sites, hub associations, Teams-connected sites, libraries, lists, metadata, content types, navigation, and site ownership through the SharePoint Admin Center and established procedures.
- SharePoint access and maintenance. Maintain permissions, inheritance, guest access, external sharing, storage, versioning, and lifecycle settings. Troubleshoot access, search, library, and synchronization issues using approved governance requirements.
- Identity and access. Maintain Entra ID and hybrid identity services, including accounts, groups, directory synchronization, MFA, SSO, and existing Conditional Access policies. Investigate sign-in and access issues.
- Endpoint support. Administer existing Intune enrollment, Autopilot, compliance, configuration, mobile protection, BitLocker, and update policies. Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot application packages, including Win32 (.intunewin) packages, installation commands, detection rules, and application updates.
- Azure and infrastructure. Maintain existing Azure resources, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, permissions, virtualization, and storage. Support patching, backups, restoration checks, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Security and data protection. Support existing Microsoft Defender and Purview controls. Review alerts, investigate issues, and assist the security team with vulnerability follow-up, sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, and audit requests.
- Scripts and workflows. Use, troubleshoot, and maintain existing PowerShell scripts, Microsoft Graph integrations, and Power Automate workflows for routine administration and reporting. Follow secure access and documentation practices.
- Service ownership. Monitor system health, investigate escalated tickets, coordinate with vendors, and follow issues through resolution. Document findings, communicate blockers, and seek guidance when risks or unfamiliar situations arise.
- Project delivery. Help plan, test, and carry out approved Microsoft 365 implementations. Coordinate assigned project tasks, timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder updates. Support rollout planning, validation, documentation, and handoff to support.
- Team support. Maintain runbooks, share knowledge, and help with networking, conferencing, VoIP, printing, and Microsoft Teams calling support, including user settings and call troubleshooting. Provide emergency support and after-hours maintenance when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ work experience as a systems engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant professional experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

What you bring
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID, including administration and troubleshooting of existing Intune configuration, compliance, and app protection policies and Microsoft Defender endpoint and email security policies.
- SharePoint Online administration is required, including Admin Center, sites and hubs, libraries, permissions and inheritance, external sharing, and troubleshooting collaboration issues.
- Hands-on Microsoft Teams administration experience is required, including Teams Admin Center, meeting and messaging policies, app management, external access, and Teams Phone/calling administration.
- Working experience with Intune, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, permissions, patching, and hybrid identity support.
- Intune application packaging experience is required, including preparing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting Win32 (.intunewin) packages, silent installation/uninstallation commands, and detection and requirement rules.
- Practical familiarity with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview, including supporting existing protection, information governance, and access controls.
- Ability to read, troubleshoot, and maintain PowerShell scripts, with working knowledge of Microsoft Graph and Power Automate.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnets, routing, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs; ability to use logs and monitoring tools to investigate issues.
- KQL, Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Configuration Manager co-management, or Power Platform support.
- SharePoint multi-geo environments, familiarity with SPFx solutions, or support for a geographically distributed organization.
- Clear communication, organized documentation, and the ability to complete assigned work while following established procedures and recognizing when to escalate.
- Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft 365 services, policies, or significant configuration changes is required. Candidates must be able to describe a project they helped deliver, their personal responsibilities, configuration and testing work, rollout approach, challenges, and results.
- Project management skills are required, including planning assigned technical projects, organizing tasks, tracking timelines and dependencies, coordinating stakeholders and vendors, communicating risks, and following work through completion.
