Job description
EP Wealth Advisors (EPWA) is a wealth management advisory firm with over $49.1 billion as of June 30, 2026, serving predominately high net worth individuals. EPWA fosters an inclusive environment that offers opportunities for our associates to learn, grow and enhance their skills to take on new challenges to progress in their professional careers.

Summary

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst will support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial modeling, while partnering closely with business leaders across the organization. This role also leads the implementation and ongoing administration of Workday, serving as the FP&A team's primary system owner. The ideal candidate brings 4-6 years of progressive FP&A experience, a proven ability to work with large, complex data sets, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a strong problem-solving mindset.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the forecasting process by harnessing historical data, market trends, and business insights to develop accurate financial forecasts. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to refine assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Support the annual budgeting process end-to-end, partnering with department leaders to build, consolidate, and manage budgets in line with company targets and timelines.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actual financial performance against forecasts and budgets. Identify key drivers behind variances, assess their implications, and provide actionable recommendations to management for course correction or improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to functional and departmental leaders, providing financial insight, ad hoc analysis, and decision support that ties directly to business objectives.
  • Build and deliver ad hoc financial models and analyses on request, translating open-ended business questions into clear, defensible financial answers under tight turnaround times.
  • Leverage BI tools like Tableau to visualize financial data, trends, and performance metrics. Create interactive dashboards and reports that provide meaningful insights to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Extract, clean, and analyze large, multi-source data sets (e.g., transaction-level, GL, and operational data) to uncover trends, anomalies, and insights that inform forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decisions.
  • Perform complex, multi-dimensional data analysis across business units, products, and time periods, distilling high-volume data into clear, actionable takeaways for senior leaders.
  • Design scalable, automated data workflows and reporting processes that reduce manual effort and improve the speed and reliability of analysis on large data volumes.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and decision-making. Utilize advanced Excel functionalities and financial modeling techniques to enhance the accuracy and robustness of financial projections.
  • Generate comprehensive and insightful financial reports, highlighting key findings from variance analysis and forecasting exercises. Communicate findings effectively to management and stakeholders, empowering them to make informed decisions.
  • Review and analyze M&A deals post transaction to deal models.
  • Support the FP&A team's Workday implementation, including configuration of budgeting, planning, and reporting modules in partnership with IT and outside consultants.
  • Serve as the ongoing Workday system administrator for FP&A: manage security roles and access, maintain workflows and business processes, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate system updates and enhancements.
  • Build and maintain Workday reports and dashboards that support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting needs.
  • Train and support end users on Workday functionality relevant to financial planning and reporting, serving as the go-to resource for FP&A-related system questions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in forecasting methodologies, variance analysis techniques, and reporting processes. Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and elevate the quality of financial analysis.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data used in forecasting and variance analysis. Adhere to established data governance protocols and compliance standards to maintain data integrity and reliability.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in financial planning, forecasting, or variance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including implementation and/or system administration, strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, advanced Excel skills, and experience with BI tools like Tableau.
  • Demonstrated experience working with massive data sets (millions of rows or multiple integrated source systems) and performing complex data analysis to drive financial insights.
  • Proficiency in data querying and manipulation tools such as SQL; experience with Python, Power Query, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a finance business partner to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to dissect complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in financial analysis.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
