Job description

About Huskeys

Huskeys is reimagining web application protection for the modern era. We built the first Agentic Network Security Control Plane: an AI-powered mitigation layer that works with any existing WAF, so security teams can unify protection, measure effectiveness and block threats without disrupting the business.

Why we need you

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own a major piece of our real-time core. Not just to ship services, but to design the systems, set the standards and keep everything we build running under load. You'll also raise the bar for the engineers around you.

About the position

You'll own backend services in Node.js/TypeScript on AWS, from first requirement to production and beyond. Expect event-driven pipelines, secure connections and production you can see into.

What success looks like after 6 months

  • Domain owner: you're the go-to person for your services: how they work, how they fail and how to run them.

  • End-to-end delivery: you've shipped a major feature from requirements to rollout, with a design doc others built from.

  • Reliable by default: your services have dashboards and alerts, and incidents end with a real fix.

  • Team multiplier: your reviews and standards make the team faster.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the design: write HLDs/SDDs and drive projects through the full SDLC.

  • Build for scale: high-throughput services and event-driven pipelines on SQS, SNS, S3 and RabbitMQ.

  • Ship safely: run on AWS (ECS and Lambda) with staged rollouts per tenant and platform.

  • Make production visible: dashboards, alerts and tracing in Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana.

  • Lead through incidents: coordinate recovery, run the RCA and ship the preventative fix.

  • Mentor: review code with care and share what you know.

Day-to-day reality

  • Mostly hands-on building: designing, coding, reviewing and debugging across services.

  • Regular work with client, platform, QA and support teams to gather requirements and validate end-to-end flows.

  • Full ownership of what you ship, including on-call for it. We use agentic coding tools like Claude Code and Codex to move faster.

The ideal candidate

  • Owns the outcome: you stay with a feature until it works in production.

  • Builds for leverage: you create standards and tooling that other teams reuse.

  • Calm under pressure: you stay steady during incidents and drive to the root cause.

  • Shares early: you ask sharp questions and give clear written updates.

Must-have requirements

  • 8+ years in backend engineering, including 3+ years leading designs or projects end to end.

  • Strong, hands-on Node.js and TypeScript.

  • Distributed systems and messaging in production: event-driven design, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS.

  • AWS experience: ECS, Lambda, S3 and DynamoDB.

  • Observability depth: Datadog, plus Prometheus and Grafana.

  • Data stores: MongoDB, Redis and MySQL.

  • CI/CD and release engineering (GitHub Actions or TeamCity).

  • Clear written communication and design docs other developers can build from.

  • Fluent English and Hebrew.

Bonus points

  • Real-time, high-concurrency TCP or custom-protocol servers.

  • TLS and mTLS, including certificate lifecycle and validation.

  • API gateways (like Kong), OAuth2 and X.509/PKI-based services.

  • Reliable serverless messaging, such as Lambda with RabbitMQ.

  • Daily use of agentic coding tools.

  • Experience with Cassandra or a JVM language.
