Job description

About Mariana Minerals

Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company on a mission to supply the critical minerals powering modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. We’re reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

As a Lab Technician, you'll support safe, efficient and high-quality process development studies and analytical tests. You'll work closely with R&D and engineering to build, operate and maintain ore leaching columns, and deliver timely, accurate and actionable chemical analysis of ore, process streams and final products. You'll play a critical role in bridging leaching research and lab analytics with plant operations, helping make sure processes are robust, efficient and ready for future development and scale-up.

Responsibilities

  • Drive ore handling, including crushing, sorting by particle size and taking representative samples

  • Prepare samples for analysis using techniques such as digestion, dilution and filtration

  • Perform elemental and compositional analysis of solid and liquid samples using ICP, NMR, XRF, titrators or similar analytical techniques

  • Document analytical results in laboratory information systems and maintain clear experimental records and material metrics using digital tools

  • Follow strict environmental, health and safety protocols

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in minerals processing, metallurgy, chemicals, specialty materials or similar industrial environments

  • Hands-on experience operating analytical or similar equipment

  • Familiarity with chemical processing (pumps, columns, instrumentation) or crushing equipment (crushers, grinders, conveyors, sorters)

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic fabrication and troubleshooting

  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, equipment manuals and safety guidelines

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across teams

  • Commitment to safety, accuracy and operational excellence

Schedule 7 days on / 7 days off, working 12-hour shifts

Relocation assistance options are available

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Hands-on production lab at a working mine, not a clean lab

  • Regular exposure to dust, noise, acid fumes and mud

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Our culture is built on four principles:

Everyone Gets Home Safe. We never put speed or cost ahead of people.

Extreme Ownership. We take full responsibility for outcomes, relentlessly driving toward solutions.

Engineer Out Requirements, then Automate. We simplify, optimize, and then automate for scale.

Share Your Legos. We collaborate openly, share knowledge, and empower each other to build bigger, better solutions.

Join us as we build the future of responsible mineral sourcing and supply!
