Job description: ### **Business Development Representative (BDR)** **About Balance** Balance is an accounting firm that happens to be exceptionally good at AI. Traditional firms use AI for marginal gains. We're building an end-to-end agentic organisation where our agents do the accounting work and bring in our human accountants where it matters, such as signing off on the final state of accounts. We are our customers' accountant. We close their books every month faster, cheaper and more accurately than any traditional firm, with answers on their accounts 24/7. We're approaching +150 customers across the UK and Denmark and growing 40% month over month. We just raised a $4.7M seed round led by Google Ventures. Now we're hiring our first BDR in Copenhagen & London. **The role** You own the first contact with the market. You call, you write and you book meetings for our sales team. This is an early seat. There's no playbook yet, because you're the one who writes it. We'll give you the right tools. In return, we expect you to find the approach that generates meetings. When something starts working, we scale it together. Once the machine is running, there's a good chance you'll be the one who helps build the team around it. **What you'll do** * Reach out to prospective customers by phone, email and LinkedIn * Book qualified meetings for our AEs * Test messaging, segments and channels, then double down on what works and drop what doesn't * Track the numbers closely. Meetings booked and conversion rates are your scoreboard, not activity for its own sake. * Bring what you hear back to the team. You're closest to the market, so you'll often be the first to know what resonates and what customers actually care about. * Build the method with us, working closely with our founders **Who we're looking for** There are two ways in. You might have real experience from a similar role and results that stand out. Or you might be completely new, and what you lack in experience, you make up for in ambition, drive and attitude. Either way, we're looking for someone who: * Is hungry and self-directed, and doesn't wait for permission * Is sharp on numbers and allergic to vanity metrics * Can talk to business owners and finance people like a peer, not a vendor An accounting or finance background is a bonus, not a requirement. We'll teach you the domain. We can't teach the instinct to build and grow. **Why Balance?** You'll be one of the very first people on the commercial team at a fast-growing company backed by Google Ventures & Y Combinator.
