Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Waterjet Operator with expertise in operating both 2D and XD waterjet heads. Experience with Flow software and Solidworks preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operation of waterjet to cut both 2D and 3D parts from plate stock
- Programming of new parts and uploading existing files to computer for jobs
- Organization of waterjet area to maintain a safe and clean workspace
- Forklift operation for loading/unloading of material on waterjet
- Training for employees learning the waterjet operation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience running waterjets including 3D parts
- Ability to program using Flowcut software
- Ability to create DXF files from Solidworks models or drawings
- Familiar with applicable measuring tools to check stock size and part quality
- Ability to operate a forklift and obtain internal certification
- Ability to speak effectively and communicate with groups of employees throughout the organization
- Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues
- Ability to work with highly collaborative team
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
- Prioritizes and ensures safety of oneself and others
Physical Conditions
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Adjusting, moving, transporting, installing, positioning, or removing objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Operating motor vehicles, heavy equipment or machinery
- Use hand tools
- Repetitive assembly operations of manufacturing test fixtures and test setups in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams

- Accessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
- High-concentration, demanding and fast-paced
Safety and PPE
- Reading and interpreting hazardous warning signs
- Manipulating, cleaning and disposal of hazardous materials
- Reporting issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
- Wearing proper PPE, to include face mask, face shields, gloves, safety shoes
Travel
- Some travel may be required (5%)
Certification
- Capable of obtaining forklift and boom lift certification
