Title: Technical Program Manager, Software Engineering

Salary Range: 130-170k 

Purpose of Position:

The Technical Program Manager will be pivotal in ensuring that engineering projects are completed successfully and meet technical requirements, stakeholder expectations, and business objectives. This person will be an expert in project management methodologies and have technical knowledge of engineering principles to achieve project success.

Position Overview:

As a Technical Program Manager at RunPod, you will lead and oversee the entire lifecycle of complex technology projects and programs that drive business goals and create value for clients, employees, and stakeholders. You will apply a broad knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories to develop innovative solutions. Your strong communication abilities will enable you to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively, ensuring project objectives and governance alignment. By optimizing resources and managing risks, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-impact projects that shape the future of RunPod.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure timely and successful delivery of technology projects.
• Lead and oversee the entire lifecycle of projects, including defining scope and progression, allocating resources, setting deadlines, and ensuring successful completion and delivery aligned with strategic objectives.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively address potential roadblocks, and implement risk management strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
• Facilitate daily stand-up meetings with project teams to track progress and address issues.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks.
• Foster transparent and open communication channels within the team and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, adjust plans and schedules as needed, and provide stakeholders with regular status updates.
• Create, update, and maintain project documentation.
• Determine and oversee frequent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of products in all stages of completion.
• Manage ticket workflow by gathering information, seeking clarity on requests, ensuring prioritization, and tracking ticket progress to meet deadlines.
• Utilize technical fluency to evaluate and recommend appropriate project implementation technologies, platforms, and vendor products.
• Evaluate project outcomes and conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong technical skills and background in engineering and building scalable SaaS/IaaS products or services.
• Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities.
• Proven track record of leading and implementing large-scale engineering/development projects with detailed requirements.
• Strong experience in software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including build processes, testing, and operations.
• Proficient in stakeholder management, with a track record of establishing productive working relationships and driving mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Strong technical fluency, with familiarity in cloud computing systems.
• Excellent quantitative critical thinking and problem-solving skills, adept at managing multiple priorities and continually improving processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to lead, organize, and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously.
• Proven ability to build, track, and execute programs from start to finish independently under fast-changing priorities.
• Critical time management skills for all owned tasks, often delivering under tight deadlines and managing project timelines and deliverables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong personal ownership and the ability to align partnerships and collaborations.
• Innovative and solution-oriented problem solver who can respond to changing priorities, rapidly adapt, and overcome challenges collaboratively.
• Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and be comfortable with ambiguity.
