Monterra is an early-stage B2B SaaS startup helping EV charging installers (contractors and developers) design, plan, and sell projects faster. Swift deployment of charging infrastructure is critical to electrifying and decarbonizing transportation. Contractors and developers play a central role in this, and we help them work faster, deploy more chargers, grow sales & expand margins. Our vision is to bring automation and AI into every aspect of electrical work and enable the builders of a cleaner, electrified future.
We are looking for the company's first sales hire who will play a foundational role in jump-starting our explosive top-line growth and establishing a strong go-to-market foundation. π§βπ» Who you are
- 5+ YoE in software sales, including experience closing business in SMB and Mid-Market accounts
- Startup experience (preferably early-stage)
- Entrepreneurial and scrappy self-starter: thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Comfortable operating with limited "large company sales resources" (eg, sales enablement & marketing resources)
- Experience selling to contractors in EV charging or similar industries (eg, construction, clean energy)
- Comfortable flexibly operating up- and down- the funnel (eg, lead gen, account management)
π What you'll work on
- Spend 60-70% of time on handling sales cycles and closing deals + 30-40% of time on strategic GTM "foundational work" - eg, work closely with founders to refine sales strategy, evolve and expand sales playbook, improve sales systems, etc. (this mix will evolve over time based on business needs and your professional goals)
- Identify and generate new business opportunities through various channels
- Handle full sales cycles from discovery, product demos & presentations, negotiation to closures
- Plan and attend conferences, trade shows, and other industry events
- Capture and communicate Voice of the Customer to inform product roadmap planning and company strategy
