Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a Senior Engineering Integration Engineer with a strong technical background who can integrate across multidisciplinary teams through concept development, objectives and requirements definition, analysis, detailed design, manufacture, and production/deployment for the Kairos Power Fluoride Salt-Cooled High Temperature Reactor technology. You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program, by ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered in the engineering process for maximizing the value of the final product.
Responsibilities
- This role will be very hands on and will require you to facilitate across various stakeholders to achieve integration of both technical and program objectives to drive and deliver results.
- You will help solve and efficiently work through specific cross functional issues that arise through the design, build, and test efforts.
- You will have to apply your strong technical background and knowledge to lead efforts to close multiple trades and drive towards key decisions, coordinate project reviews, while maintaining excellent communication with the project lead(s) of status and issues.
- Partner with teams in all parts of the organization to understand, synthesize, and support development of good engineering and business practices.
- Performing tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, Aerospace, or other related engineering discipline and BS (8+ years experience), MS (4+ years experience), or PhD (4+ years experience)
- 3+ years of progressive engineering experience working in the full lifecycle of products from concept, design, analysis, testing, and manufacture in a development-to-production environment
- Demonstrates technical, systems engineering, systems-thinking in a large variety of challenges (like managing interactions across system boundaries and interfaces), and can dive in deeper technically, where needed
- A scrappy team player, who will actively pitch-in wherever necessary - with excellent interpersonal, written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
- Desire and ability to function in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and adjust workload based upon changing priorities, with careful attention to detail
- Experience with Jama Connect or similar digital requirements management tools desired
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering methods desired
- Experience with Process Design, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) desired
- Ability to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo
- Impeccably organized with careful attention to detail

- Ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently

Travel
- Some travel may be required (up to 20%) to other Kairos Power offices and customer locations
