SEO Content Manager

We seek an SEO Content Strategist/Manager with 3+ years of experience. As an SEO Content Strategist, you will be responsible for researching trending topics, writing, and editing engaging content optimised for search engine visibility. Other core responsibilities include developing and implementing effective search engine optimisation strategies to drive organic traffic and improve Blueshift’s’ online presence. This includes managing on-page SEO and off-page SEO activities, optimising keywords and phrases, link building, and analysing web analytics data to improve site performance. It also includes managing our content creation efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about digital marketing, content creation, and SEO strategies. The ideal candidate has a deep technical understanding of SEO analytics and exceptional writing skills with a track record of producing compelling content leading to sales in areas such as marketing technology.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with these team members to create synergistic strategies that enhance our content’s reach and effectiveness. You’ll also be able to lead initiatives and coordinate with other departments to ensure a unified approach to our online presence. You will work with other content writers to help create compelling content that supports the SEO strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Blueshift to grow the site’s SEO rankings, traffic, and conversions.
  • Own and lead all aspects of SEO including content, technical and non-technical SEO efforts.
  • Develop and monitor a set of SEO metrics to measure progress toward goals.
  • Conduct thorough keyword research and SEO analysis to identify relevant target keywords and phrases.
  • Develop and execute effective on-page and off-page SEO strategies to improve website visibility and SERP rankings.
  • Optimize website content, meta tags, headers, and URLs to ensure alignment with target keywords and enhance search engine crawl ability.
  • Write engaging and informative content and refresh existing content that effectively conveys our client’s message and aligns with the target customer’s interests.
  • Develop content to improve the visibility of our pages through organic search and improve the customer’s experience.
  • Manage the content roadmap by working with content writers, both in-house and with external partners.
  • Collaborate with creative and digital professionals to align content with the overall content strategy, business objectives, and proper website structure and formatting.
  • Proofread and edit content to maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and readability.
  • Adhere to content guidelines, style guides, and editorial calendars to ensure timely content delivery.
  • Monitor and analyse website performance metrics, including organic traffic, rankings, and engagement using tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Provide regular reports on keyword performance content optimisations and opportunities for improvement to the leadership team.
  • Identify technical SEO issues and implement solutions for improved website performance and user experience.
  • Conduct SEO audits, competitive analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for improvement and stay ahead of competitors in search rankings.
  • Track and analyse website traffic, user behaviour, and conversion rates to assess the effectiveness of SEO strategies and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Stay current on emerging SEO trends and technologies, exploring innovative approaches to enhance our SEO efforts further.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to integrate SEO with other digital marketing initiatives for cohesive campaigns.

Requirements

Must Have

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a similar field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 3+ years of experience as an SEO manager or a similar SEO-focused role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and digital marketing trends, with a strong understanding of the Indian search landscape.
  • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner and Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing, local SEO and SEO reporting tools.
  • Experience in researching trending topics, writing, and editing engaging content optimised for search engine visibility.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and website optimisation platforms, like WordPress.
  • Knowledge of technical SEO, including speed optimisation for web and mobile.
  • Experience with SEO for local businesses and Google My Business optimisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Proven proficiency in the English language.  

Good to Have

  • Basic understanding of website design, development, Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, and link-building strategies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Experience with SEO testing and experimentation.
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) principles.
  • Basic web development knowledge.
  • Detail-oriented approach to recognise patterns and identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce well-researched and error-free content.
  • Exceptional command over grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Excellent copywriting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and desire to work on a collaborative team with high standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills; balancing multiple priorities and demands simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated strong English-writing writing skills
