Senior Test Engineer
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer of our integrated robotic system (electro-mechanical assemblies and integrated product) for our groundbreaking Digit product. This engineer will work on a small team and will be responsible for solving systemic issues of integrated hardware, running root cause of failures from end to end, and working to drive process changes for continually improving product quality. This role will also expand and develop acceptance and qualification test programs.
About the Work
- Drive the recovery of discrepant hardware discovered during integrated hardware testing
- Develop fault tree analysis to isolate and disposition discrepant hardware based on test data and results
- Front line integrated system test engineering support for engineering, manufacturing, and production
- Disposition of failed systems and facilitate debugging of failed integrated systems and drive root cause of failures
- Drive higher production yield and drive upstream process improvements
- Document failure modes and use data to continually improve quality
- Development of test requirements and test planning with the engineering team
- Create and modify software applications to run data acquisition and control systems
- Supervise system-level builds by working with technicians and vendors
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or relevant engineering degree
- 5+ years of design, engineering analysis, test, and build experience
- Hands-on experience with testing and data acquisition
- Authorization to work in the USA
Preferred to have:
- Advanced degrees with professional engineering experience
- Proficiency with programming and automation/scripting languages (Python, C++, SQL, Matlab)
- Experience with automated production test systems
- Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment within the consumer electronics, mobile handset, medical device, aerospace, marine, or automotive industries
- Experience with electro-mechanical and manufacturing processes and assembly
- Experience using test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, load cells, relays, drives, and encoders
- Proficiency with PTC CREO, or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Proficient coding experience
- Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines including mills, lathes, manual and CNC; Hands-on machining experience
