- Job Description
At Serve Robotics, we’re reimagining how things move in cities. We are looking for a Navigation and Behavior Planning specialist to research, develop, and implement technologies for planning in semi-structured environments such as intersections, busy pathways and multi-point turn maneuvers. You’ll be developing state-of-the-art algorithms to enable our robot to safely and reliably plan complex maneuvers. You’ll be improving robot’s navigation capability with real-time decision-making around various dynamic agents like pedestrians, cars, and environmental obstacles.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement advanced behavior planning algorithms for autonomous robots.
Collaborate closely with perception and navigation team, should play a major role in developing robust dynamic agent prediction integrating with planner module and expanding capability for agent behavior planning.
Conduct extensive testing in simulated environments and real-world scenarios to validate and refine behavior planning algorithms.
Lead the developments to enhance the robot ability to reduce failure, correct inefficiencies, and integrate primitive robot skills to high level plans.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, algorithms, and system designs.
Qualifications
Master’s degree with 5 years of experience or PhD degree with minimum 2 years of industry experience in Robotics, AI, Mathematics, or a related field.
Deep understanding of behavior planning algorithms such as state machines, behavior trees, policy learning, and probabilistic planning.
Experience with debugging and address long tail hard case autonomy scenarios encountered by robotics systems using suitable behavior planning.
Knowledge of machine learning techniques, especially in the context of behavior prediction and planning.
Strong programming skills for efficient and robust code. Design, write, and maintain efficient and scalable code in C++ and Python.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What makes you standout
Experience with motion planning and control systems algorithms.
Experience with developing and testing simulation scenarios at scale with framework like Gazebo, Nvidia’s IsaacSim a plus.
Experience with Reinforcement Learning for planning and controls with concepts like imitation learning.
Bazel build system experience and deploying code to production through CI/CD systems.
