Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure - Parabola

Our mission is to provide non-technical teams (”operators”) with the same type of leverage as their technical counterparts and drive operational excellence in the process. We do this by providing a no-code platform to build, automate and collaborate on data workflows while standardizing and bringing transparency into key processes.

Any time you are breaking into a spreadsheet to clean up or reconcile data, waiting on integrations or access to data, or simply think there has to be a better (likely automated) way, there’s probably a use case for Parabola.

About the role:

As a software engineer on our rapidly growing team, you’ll help build our core platform features, reinforce and evolve our technical foundation, and work with a unique flow-based calculation engine that already demonstrates high throughput and availability but needs your help to continue scaling.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading major infrastructure and developer experience projects from the ground up - from ideation, to implementation, to roll-out, to hand-off & documentation.
• Taking ownership over Parabola's cloud infrastructure, and continuously look for opportunities to improve efficiency, security, and reliability.
• Building and maintaining tooling to support and promote developer efficiency.
• Optimizing our services for scalability, stability, and observability as our customer base grows and our product becomes more sophisticated.
• Collaborating with a small-but-mighty group of engineers with a wide array of backgrounds and areas of expertise.
• Helping our team define processes and practices that will serve us for years of growth and success

What (we think) you’ll need to do it:

• 5+ years of DevOps, infrastructure, or site reliability experience working in a team-based high-availability production environment.
• Proficiency implementing and managing AWS infrastructure from the ground up and the ability to continuously evolve the stack to improve efficiency, security, and reliability.
• Proficiency managing Linux systems and Docker containers.
• Experience implementing and deploying infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) tools to manage production cloud environments (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)Proficiency managing CI/CD pipeline for multiple environments.
• Experience with private cloud and public internet services networking (e.g https, SSH, multi-factor auth) and implementing security best practices into infrastructure.
• You’re not afraid to ask for help, and you’re happy to give it, too.
• You care about the craft of engineering, and you’re dedicated to making sure your work is stable, secure, and maintainable.
• You’re an enthusiastic communicator and you like working with a team that provides both mutual support and thoughtful critique

Nice to haves:

• Proficiency managing developer experience (e.g. code coverage tooling, static analysis tooling, pull request merge queues).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure cost management.
• Stellar scripting skills.
• Experience working in dynamic high-growth organizations.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000

This salary range represents the minimum and maximum for this role based in San Francisco and New York. The salary given for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including years of experience, interview performance and anticipated responsibilities of the role. Our base salary is one component of Parabola’s competitive total package, which also includes equity and premium health and wellness benefits.
