The opportunity and why we need this role:

Senior Production Accountant

Our Senior Production Accountant needs to be ready to hit the ground running, understands that no task is too small, and has a proactive “can-do” mindset. This is a great growth opportunity for a recent Accounting or Finance degree graduate who has 4-6 years of applicable work experience. Reporting directly to our Accounting Controller, the Senior Production Accountant is responsible for forecasting and tracking actual project costs for our internal production group, the Many Studios, as well as providing financial support to all producers across the business.

What this role is responsible for:

• Accounts Payable:
• Process production invoices and check requests 
• Credit Card reconciliations
• Respond as first point of contact for vendor payment inquiries
• Manage purchase card, and petty cash process and reconciliation
• Investigate and resolve open issues with payables
• Accounts Receivable:
• Production Billing & Collections
• Work on payments and purchase orders
• Handle Payroll audits from freelance production partners (i.e. CAPS) and ensure that they are in line with submitted timecards
• Job Management:
• Interim Reconciliation for production (working actuals)
• Support month end accounting close (incl. accruals, journal entries, job closing and reconciliations)
• Produce weekly margin reports in connection with Gross Profit reporting with the Senior Accountant
• Production Management
• Open jobs and create a job folder with all pertinent production paperwork (i.e., Approved SOW’s, Approved Production Bids)
• Track ongoing variances to pre-estimates, cost estimates and actuals
• Analyze and forecast future costs
• Prepare bi-weekly production accounting reports for any in-house production
• Handling all vendor creation, ensuring up-to-date W9 is on file and ensuring correct paperwork is provided for all  new vendors from production team
• Oversee all users and projects in the production/accounting system used at The Many Studios. 
• Research and track available tax incentives, residuals, and royalties
• Ensures the soundness of control, compliance and, particularly, risk management as related to core business processes and decisions
• Examines plans and processes in order to improve, adapt and drive execution
• Creates constructive tension between Finance and the business/production through healthy friction and challenging partners on critical decisions
• General administrative tasks (i.e. maintain digital AP Files, facilitate recordkeeping for the department)

What we need from you:

• Minimum 4 years of finance/accounting experience within an integrated agency and/or production environment
• Experienced in production accounting procedures, including actualizing job costs & knowledge of general accounting principles; commercial production accounting experience is a plus
• Knowledge of production and production bids a plus
• Experience with reconciling business credit cards
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, agencies, and vendors. 
• Capability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness 
• Strong teamwork collaboration 
• Attention to detail
• Possess strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and Google Suite (Sheets)
• Ability to handle multiple projects while remaining organized

Other things we’d like to see:

• Knowledge of production and production bids a plus
• Knowledge of Netsuite & bill.com a plus

Our salary range for this opportunity is $75,000 to $90,000 annually. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package (i.e. benefits, retirement plan employer match, etc.).
