The role

As a Senior Payments Specialist, you will join a cross-functional team where on a day to day basis you will be working with local stakeholders in finance, marketing and customer operations to name a few. Key responsibilities will be leading local initiatives to enhance the customer’s payments journey, recovering debt by improving on current operational processes and exploring new alternatives too, and supporting Payments with fraud detection & mitigation, chargeback & refund management, and process optimization.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and report operational payments performance to team lead
  • Support initiatives and projects with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency of customer experience and processing platforms
  • Handle escalations across teams (customer care and legal) in addition to speaking to the situation at hand (identifying root cause, status, and resolution) 
  • Support on operational tasks, such as chargeback disputes
  • Improve chargeback/transaction dispute strategy, manage fraud rules, reduce voucher abuse

What you’ll bring

  • 1+ years of professional experience, preferably at a payments or financial services company
  • Familiarity with payments-related data, an understanding of the payments lifecycle and payment methods
  • Ability to qualitatively and quantitatively report on trends
  • Tech savvy and familiar with various provider platforms such as Chase, American Express, etc.
  • Strong analytical and MS Excel skills
  • A critical thinker—use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • You are at ease with working on multiple priorities simultaneously and meet time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at communicating trends to the local team
  • You are comfortable working with large data platforms and interrogating those effectively
  • Detail-oriented—careful and thorough in accomplishing tasks, ensuring that one’s own and team is meeting deadlines
