Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a Senior Director, Marketing Operations to join our growing team. This role will establish and lead a world-class marketing organization that ensures measurable positive impact on marketing accountability and performance, developing strong cross-functional partnerships across marketing and sales to accelerate growth. The role oversees the monitoring, measurement, and analysis of the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and programs. A key role of the Senior Director, Marketing Operations is to provide leadership to the marketing operations department. The department is responsible for analyzing the lead flow and deal flow, as well as delivering key insights and recommendations to optimize the performance of marketing programs/campaigns and assist the marketing department in the efficient achievement of its goals. In addition to process authority and line management, the director will provide strategic thinking to upper management on marketing technology trends, data models, reporting and analytics, organizational design, and resource allocations necessary to drive the development of a customer-centric culture.

Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains scalable processes within the department that demonstrate best practices in lead and campaign management.

  • Manage the strategy, execution, and optimization of the full marketing technology stack.
  • Be a MAP master, tactically and strategically.
  • Establish scalable processes that drive lead volume and pipeline progression.
  • Focus on lead management, program automation, and database segmentation.
  • Maintain and optimize lead routing and conversion workflows.
  • Work with Business Units to develop lead nurture and drip workflows and optimize the media planning and buying process, marketing mix optimization.
  • Manage global compliance GDPR, CAN SPAM, CASL, CCPA, etc.
  • Manage projects, timelines, and execution.

Leverage analytics to drive world-class marketing strategies.

  • Identify opportunities that will lead to sales enablement and marketing alignment.
  • Analyze business data to inform areas such as consumer acquisition strategies, sales and marketing partnerships, and data quality practices.
  • Deliver ongoing analysis in relation to marketing investments to optimize the marketing department’s performance and give the business competitive 
  • Build data science and predictive analytic functions to support retention, cross-sell, and customer acquisition strategies, as well as uncover new market opportunities.

Establish reporting mechanisms to optimize marketing performance.

  • Analyze marketing and sales data, developing insights for improvement and optimization.
  • Establish key performance indicators and data reporting processes including implementation of mechanisms for data visualization.
  • Improve systems and software integrations to optimize understanding of lead and deal flows.

Lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting of the marketing department.

  • Serve as chief data steward, maintaining database quality and ensuring data collection integrity.
  • Maintain marketing budget, providing a structure to manage spend.
  • Establish reporting frameworks and protocols.
  • Implement monthly/quarterly/annual marketing metrics reviews, including but not limited to, analysis of customer acquisition costs, program ROI, contact acquisition, and market penetration.

Collaborate for efficiency and success.

  • Partner with the IT department to implement technologies for data acquisition, database management, and marketing automation.
  • Partner with the finance department to ensure accurate budget allocations and support ROI analyses.
  • Develop a world class sales & marketing partnership that drives company’s revenue goals via innovative process improvements, technology, and intelligent funnel management. Brings together sales and marketing to formulate targeted strategies to drive sales efficiency and wins in the marketplace.
  • Assist with executing experiments with supervision in a laboratory setting
  • Document, and summarize findings in batch records and/or lab notebooks
  • Assists in projects between external customers and internal manufacturing teams, specifically for mRNA active pharmaceutical ingredients
  • Assists in the execution of scale up processes of mRNA
  • Participate in respectful scientific debates and discussions
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Prepares for production by reviewing production schedule; studying and clarifying specifications; calculating requirements; assembling materials and supplies.
  • Performs other functions and duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related field) required, Masters preferred
  • 8+ years of marketing experience in a B2B environment required
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in CRM solutions, marketing automation, and digital marketing
  • Experience managing large-scale marketing teams and programs
  • Experience with Salesforce, ABM platforms, attribution platforms, data enrichment platforms, sales engagement platforms, and conversational AI/chat
  • Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, AdWords, Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, etc.
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in budget management/financial analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have high proficiency with MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • A strong team player with an ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization
