Affirm’s Quantitative Markets team is looking for a thought leader with strong expertise in macroeconomics, and consumer credit portfolio management and analytics. You’ll be responsible for performing all aspects of the global loan portfolio analytics and collaborating closely with Credit, Merchant Pricing, Machine Learning, Treasury, and Capital Markets to develop frameworks on managing consumer loan portfolio and optimizing portfolio economics. 

What you'll do

  • Analyze macroeconomics outlook and trend, and provide approach for incorporating observations into loan performance expectations at Affirm, for example, as it is related to developing stress multiple analysis
  • Monitor global portfolio performance to ensure it is within Affirm’s credit risk appetite
  • Continuously evaluate credit performance data from a funding deal perspective to collaborate with Credit and other teams on optimization
  • Provide cross-functional partners with key considerations such as transfer pricing to manage portfolio economics 
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets and Treasury functions to evaluate trade-offs between loan product expansion and funding capacity needs
  • Communicate complicated analytical results to cross-functional and senior management stakeholders
  • Share insights and recommendations to management around portfolio quality

What we look for

  • 7-10 years of experience in credit analytics, structured finance, and/or economic research 
  • Deep understanding of macroeconomics and its impact on consumer credit and portfolio management
  • Strong proficiency in hands-on data analysis like SQL; Python skill a plus; experience developing and implementing analytical methods is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence decision making across different parts of an organization, as well as across all levels of seniority
  • Integrity, empathy, and self-awareness. Hubris is the fastest way to blow up a business!
