About the Role:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting our business plans to improve the manufacturing processes and increase production output. Duties include creating the company's quality standards and testing systems to reflect manufacturing capability, efficiency and performance. The Quality Engineer is also responsible for the creation of processes and documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution.
About the Work:
- Responsible for developing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting manufacturing quality KPIs
- Develop and improve quality processes & procedures based on industry best practices; and train personnel within the organization as required
- Collaborate with supply chain to establish supplier KPIs and improve supplier performance
- Collaborate with engineering to improve product quality during the design cycle
- Develop and execute manufacturing process & tooling qualification activities (IQ, OQ, PQ, GR&R)
- Identify patterns in incoming quality, manufacturing quality, and customer experience
- Ensure products adhere to company quality standards prior to shipment
- Assess manufacturing processes to develop plans to increase product quality and capability
- Use statistical techniques to track and continuously improve quality and predictability
- Lead ad hoc and/or established cross functional teams to troubleshoot, resolve, improve, and monitor quality issues
About You:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering plus 3+ years relevant experience in electro-mechanical or electronic product manufacturing
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical assembly and test, including methods and equipment
- Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes (PCBA fabrication & in-process testing, inspection methods for PCBAs & cables, functional verification processes and equipment for PCBAs and stepper motors)
- Strong understanding of QMS, and developing and improving policies and SOPs
- Strong knowledge of NPI quality requirements through to production and customer delivery
- Extensive experience using quality tools and methods (FAI, PPAP, SCAR, 6S, CAPA, etc.)
- Proficiency using statistical applications (JMP, Matlab, Tableau, SPC for Excel, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous process improvement skills (RCA, 5W, 8D, Ishikawa, PFMEA, PDCA, A3, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a customer service culture
- Able to work efficiently in a team environment as well drive projects/tasks independently
- Experience leading lean manufacturing and training initiatives a plus
- ASQ and/or Six-Sigma certification preferred
