Description

We’re looking for a Process Engineer with expertise in biochemistry, polymer science and/or flow cytometry to join our team and support our portfolio of synthetic cell products. You will be working across a variety of company verticals, including Manufacturing Operations, R&D, and Process Development. Your primary objective is to support our New Product transfer to Manufacturing along with Sustaining activities within the Manufacturing Operations department. This means that you will be supporting our current manufacturing processes and facilitating the transfer of new products from R&D to Manufacturing. Once you support the transfer of a new product to Manufacturing, you will monitor the process, develop continuous improvements, and address any issues that arise in the process. To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience in chemistry and laboratory techniques as well as process engineering. Experience in flow cytometry is highly preferred. You should also be comfortable writing technical reports and analyses of your findings, with the goal of reporting results clearly to management. Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross functional team with Process Development, R&D and Manufacturing Operations to transition products from development into production.
  • Draft and edit SOPs.
  • Validate, monitor, improve, and support various products and manufacturing processes.
  • Train Manufacturing personnel on equipment and processes related to the manufacturing of Slingshot products.
  • Maintain critical Manufacturing equipment.
  • Generate technical reports and present them to the leadership team.
  • Support general lab activities (supply chain, operations).
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with standard laboratory workflows.
  • Create and execute process and equipment validation protocols.
  • Experience running flow cytometry experiments and analyzing flow cytometry data using FlowJo or other analysis software.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and software such as Minitab.
  • Lean/Six Sigma/DFSS experience is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills/systems.
  • BS, MS or PhD in Engineering/Biochemistry/Polymer Science or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience in Industry.

Our salary ranges are calculated by role and level. Your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as consider current market rate, and title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly. After you join the company your performance, contributions, and results along with business and organizational needs will affect your base salary. The base salary range for this full-time position is between $80,000 - $110,000 + equity + benefits.
