Remote with overnight travel (~50% of the time) to LightForce® HQ in Boston, MA and to orthodontic practices in various parts of the United States.

    The Practice Transformation Manager will be responsible for analyzing orthodontic business practices, at a micro- and macro- level, and finding and addressing opportunities for improvement. The Transformation Manager will work cross-functionally to manage strategic initiatives internally (within our corporate business) and externally (within our customers’ businesses). Many initiatives will focus on process improvement, profit maximization, and change management, but consultants will need to be flexible with evolving expectations. On a regular basis, the Practice Transformation Manager will work with Sales to introduce LightForce brackets to our customers and ultimately scale their utilization within their businesses. Qualified candidates will need to show a successful track record of consulting with businesses, managing a complex book of business, and leading cross-functional teams.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Business Optimization – Conduct a thorough analysis of orthodontic business practices and customer behaviors to identify increased efficiency and effectiveness opportunities. Lead diverse teams through the necessary improvement efforts within their practice. Areas of focus for analysis will include cash flow, key performance indicators, profitability, operational efficiency, customer experience, and practice marketing. A willingness to confidently challenge the status quo will be critical to success. 
    • Building Strategic Customer Relationships – Cultivate customer loyalty, and establish and manage complex relationships at the highest levels of customer organizations. An ability to balance the needs of the company with the needs of its customers will be critical to success. Act as a liaison between the company’s internal resources and the customers. 
    • Supporting Internal/External Matrix Organizations – Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g. marketing, sales, finance,  and ops departments) to develop strategic initiatives/programs, implement those programs, and maintain an accurate record of the business. Share best practices related to account management, consultative sales, and change management with sales partners, marketing partners, and other LightForce colleagues. Develop scalable processes for providing training, support, and measuring KPIs.
    • Leadership and Collaboration – Collaborate with sales partners to support the growth of LightForce business within shared accounts by minimizing barriers and expediting adoption. Act as a liaison between key customer contacts and other functions within the organization. 
    • Strategic Project/Partnership Lead - Work closely with sales leadership, marketing, commercial excellence, and other internal LightForce teams to execute on key business strategy. Serve as optimization lead on professional marketing programs and partnerships. 
    • Additional Responsibilities: Strong business acumen and analytical skills are needed to stay current on industry trends, technologies, competitors, and market positioning. Occasional weekend travel or attendance to national trade shows, sales meetings, and conferences may be needed. 

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or business-related field and approximately 6+ years of related work experience or a master’s degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience. 
    • 3+ years of consulting experience preferred 
    • Consultative experience working with C-suite leaders on process improvement, project management, and change management efforts with broad and complex implications. 
    • Strong skills in business administration, specifically building and presenting evidence-based business cases to business owner-operators. 
    • Strong facilitation skills and change management experience. 
    • LEAN or Six Sigma certification is preferred but not required. 
    • Experience working in dental or orthodontic practices is preferred but not required. 
    • Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.). 
    • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, and Jira is preferred but not required.

  • Work is generally performed in an open office, sedentary position.
