We are currently looking for students in a wide variety of STEM fields — physics, computer science, AI, neuroscience, chemistry, cryptography, mathematics/statistics, biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, geophysics, and more — to join our world-class team of engineers, scientists and technologists.

Machine Learning meets Privacy 

Our ML team in Quantum Security is focused on bringing cutting-edge techniques from multiple disciplines to bear on high-impact problems. We engage in deep research while maintaining close contact with the needs of the customers. As a resident, you will take ownership of a project to advance the way ML is used in the quantum security world. 

We are looking for an AI Resident with strong interest in cybersecurity, especially Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PET) and its applications to network data. Experience with post-quantum cryptography and cryptographic protocols will be considered a plus. 

The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team consisting of cryptographers, mathematicians, ML experts, and physicists, and will play a key role in efficient and effective enablement of the technologies being developed. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Research and design ML algorithms with focus on network applications
  • Work closely with engineers to integrate research outcomes into the product portfolio
  • Collaborate implementations of innovative PET constructions and/or protocols

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with rapid prototyping to deploy ML models with quick turnaround
  • Familiarity with common ML tools (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in machine learning & privacy 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to open source projects
  • Experience with ML applied to Privacy, Network Security 
  • Familiarity with Networking and Cryptography
  • Familiarity with PET: differential privacy, zero-knowledge proofs, multi-party computation, or similar privacy techniques. 


  • Location: Remote
  • Start date: Year-round, on a rolling basis
  • Duration: Flexible, typically between 4 months to one year
  • Eligibility:
    • Currently enrolled in a PhD program in math, computer science, or related field. **Currently enrolled non-PhD post-graduate students may be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g. currently enrolled in Masters)
