Job Description

The Payroll & HR Compliance Coordinator will play a key role in providing administrative support to the Sr. Manager of People Operations and People team. This role will support payroll processing for both corporate and Retail and ensure compliance in all HR practices, which include keeping up to date with federal, state and local regulations. Additionally, this role will assist with tasks involved in the full employee lifecycle, manage administrative processing in our HR systems and programs, assist with HQ office tasks, provide critical support to the team, and champion the Parachute employee experience


What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee salaried and hourly payroll processing for accuracy 
  • Maintain administrative process for employee changes within the organization
  • Process other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, commission, off cycle payments, etc..)
  • Act as point of contact for timecard and payroll-related inquiries
  • Ensure all Parachute locations are up to date with required labor postings
  • Support HR compliance efforts, including anti-harassment training, labor poster compliance for all Parachute locations & multi state labor laws
  • Support the onboarding process:
    • Setup employee profiles in our PEO
    • Create and maintain HR files, reports, and documentation
    • Complete, verify, and maintain I-9 records
    • Prepare new hire welcome packages
    • Coordinate scheduling for new hire orientation
  • Support the offboarding process, which includes document processing and system termination
  • Coordinate and assist with maintenance of our people analytics and performance management platform, as well as support during annual performance reviews
  • Assist with benefits administration and inquiries
  • Process leaves of absence
  • Process unemployment claims and employment verification requests
  • Responsible for record-keeping and file maintenance of all employee related data and payroll transactions
  • Assist with HQ office admin tasks which include managing weekly orders, processing security access for new employees, and supporting occasional office operation projects
  • Assist with ad-hoc company-wide events and people programs
  • Identify areas of improvement on all things HR and work with the People Team to implement new projects and ideas

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 1 year of experience across a variety of Human Resources responsibilities within the eCommerce or Retail industry
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and systems
  • SHRM or PHR certification a plus
  • Ability to thrive in an exceptionally fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with HR systems and general HR administration
  • An innovative problem solver who is proactive and willing to take initiative
  • Passionate about the employee experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good intuition, and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple tasks at once
  • Proficiency in Google applications specifically with Sheets, Slides, and Docs
  • Comfortability working with Microsoft Excel 
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Must be able to come into our office located in Culver City, LA at least once a week
