Media.Monks is looking for a strong Media Strategy & Planning leader within their Mexico footprint. This candidate is able to dive into media and consumer research, analyze business data and objectives and carve out opportunities. From there, this individual will be able to translate those insights into detailed media plans and work with teams to bring them to life.

Ideal candidates in this role love data, but equally love creativity and love merging the two to create new ways for consumers and brands to connect. To succeed in this role, you should enjoy challenging assumptions and status quo and be comfortable bringing to life things that have never been done before. As the Media Director of Planning & Strategy, you will be responsible for overseeing all strategic and tactical executions across the media team. With a strong understanding of both digital and offline media buys, you will work closely with the Account Director to foster client relationships and ensure the overall success of the team. You will play a pivotal role in digesting client briefs and effectively delegating workflows across strategy, planning, and investment teams. Collaboration with data teams to ensure relevant and accurate reporting will be essential, demonstrating your general understanding of measurement. Your strong personal and leadership skills will enable you to provide effective direction to fellow team members and utilize insight tools to enhance decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all strategic and tactical executions across the media team, ensuring the successful implementation of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Dig into culture and client problems to uncover insights and build strong media briefs
  • Expanding upon the brand’s strategy, you’ll work with the client team to develop the media strategy, identifying what needs to be achieved and providing directions for how to achieve it.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of both digital and offline media buys, leveraging this knowledge to inform media planning and strategy.
  • High level management of the entire media output for assigned clients, including meetings and communications across buying teams, account management, measurement and senior clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the Account Director to build and nurture strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and successful project outcomes.
  • Take charge of digesting client briefs and effectively delegate workflow across strategy, planning, and investment teams, optimizing resources and timelines.
  • Collaborate with data teams to ensure relevant and accurate reporting, contributing to the overall measurement strategy and enhancing campaign performance.
  • Display strong personal and leadership skills, inspiring and guiding team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Partner with creative teams (either internally or at client partner agencies) to translate creative territories to media executions
  • Utilize insight tools to provide effective direction and support to team members, fostering strategic decision-making and enhancing campaign effectiveness.
  • Lead the development and delivery of core strategic deliverables, including offline and online media buying, go-to-market plans, and projections.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of media planning and strategy experience within a paid media agency
  • You’re not a brand-strategist-doing-digital but a true digital strategist who understands the online landscape through and through.
  • Strong experience in digital and traditional media from strategy to execution - including a strong understanding of local marketplace dynamics
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic storytelling, task delegation, project management, client relationships, and process organization within the media industry.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and team management, motivating and guiding team members to achieve exceptional results.
  • A deep understanding of both digital and offline media buys, enabling effective media planning and strategy development.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with the Account Director to build and maintain client relationships.
  • General knowledge of measurement practices and the ability to collaborate with data teams to ensure accurate and relevant reporting.
  • Proficiency in utilizing insight tools to provide direction and support to team members, enhancing campaign effectiveness.
  • Ability to uncover the bigger picture in media objectives and translate this to tactical execution
  • Advanced English
  • Platform knowledge: Meta, Google and nice to have in TikTok, Twitter, Amazon Ads
