About The Team:

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will have an opportunity within the Mechanical Engineering - Instruments and Accessories team to learn and play an important role in the development of Noah Medical’s endoscope and accessories. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, controls, systems, instrument, and quality engineers to design tests and experiments to characterize and verify functional and performance requirements. The Mechanical Engineer Intern should have a natural curiosity in how things work and be willing to dive into solving complex technical problems. This position is on-site.

A Day In The Life Of Our Mechanical Engineer Intern (I&A):

  • Design test methods and execute testing on both commercialized devices and prototype devices
  • Design experiments to test and compare new design prototypes to current design
  • Draw conclusions from test results and communicate to the team.
  • Research and propose design alternatives; create prototypes.
  • Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams in a start-up environment with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Design and modify device components, assemblies, and other parts such as test fixtures
  • Document design intent through engineering drawings.
  • Provide excellent communication of technical issues as they arise to support the needs of the Mechanical Engineering team.

About You:

  • Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering or scientific discipline required, preferably final year of B.S/M.S.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with CAD systems (Solidworks or similar).
  • Experience with statistical software (Minitab or similar)
  • Experience with rapid prototyping.
  • Able to maintain organization of a lot of data.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to get involved in problem solving.
  • Able to work in R&D lab environment during the day

Pay Transparency

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location of the posted role. Noah Medical reserves the right to modify this range as needed based on candidate experience level and/or specialized skills. Please note that the aforementioned range is only one component of the position's total compensation package.

California Pay Range
$24$31 USD
