Job Description

During our 10-week summer internship program, you’ll join our Therapeutics - Drug Discovery team who contributes to biological experiments to support target validation. You’ll have the opportunity to develop skills such as design and perform molecular and immune cell-based assays for mechanism of action studies in a corporate setting. The dates for Cohort 1 will be June 5, 2023 - August 18, 2023; the dates for Cohort 2 will be June 20, 2023 - September 1, 2023.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and perform molecular and immune cell-based assays for mechanism of action studies
  • Work with manager/ associate scientist on projects to support target discoveries and drug development for immuno-oncology
  • Present and discuss data in team meetings
  • Keep accurate and complete laboratory documentation and electronic files

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous wet lab experience beyond coursework
  • Familiar with cell culture and common biochemical, cell based and molecular biology techniques such as transfection and flow cytometry
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and driven to learn
  • Must be enrolled in an academic program pursuing a Master or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology or related field.
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to work onsite 40 hours/week Monday-Friday in South San Francisco, CA
