The HR Operations Associate is responsible for cultivating a seamless, best-in-class onboarding experience that aligns all new hires to Acorns’ mission and values. This role requires a strong understanding of onboarding processes and systems, exceptional attention to detail and a deep passion for building relationships. This position will be the "first impression" for our incoming employees, with that, passion for the new hire experience will be essential.
This role has the option to be remote or based in our Irvine, CA or New York, NY offices.

Within 1 month, you will:
- Learn about the Acorns products and culture and build relationships across the business
- Meet with key partners and stakeholders to understand the Acorns culture and needs across the organization
- Familiarize yourself with all HR policies, processes, practices and programs
- Train on our onboarding processes, systems and programs
- Begin evaluating the onboarding program to identify opportunities to improve and automate processes
Within 2 months, you will:
- Oversee administration of our talent management system, Cornerstone OnDemand
- Responsible for all administrative tasks in Cornerstone OnDemand including content management, system functionality, configuration, reporting and maintenance
- Responsible for employee updates for employment changes including job changes, organization changes and offboarding
- Work with necessary parties for notification to ensure smooth transitions
Within 3 months, you will:
- Assume management of the Acorns onboarding program
- Responsible for all administrative tasks after acceptance of offer including background checks, new hire workflows, new hire documents, IT setup and introduction meetings
- Oversee new hire onboarding training and work with managers to ensure compliance
- Partner with hiring managers and the various departments, including HR and IT, to ensure new hires have the tools they need
- Responsible for new hire performance management workflows in our talent management system, Cornerstone OnDemand
- Act as a point of contact to answer new hire questions and drive their engagement throughout the onboarding process
Within 4 months, you will:
- Maintain an engaging and informative experience that aligns all new hires to Acorns’ mission and values
- Evaluate the onboarding program to identify opportunities to improve and automate processes
- Oversee new hire onboarding training and work with managers to ensure compliance
- Work with cross-functional partners such as HR, Legal, Compliance and Information Security to implement training courses and ensure compliance
- Lead annual training campaigns and work with managers and HR Business Partners to ensure compliance
What you will bring to Acorns:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Psychology or related field
- 3-6 years of experience in Human Resources or Talent Development with a strong understanding of HR principles, practices and procedures
- Experience leading orientation or other new hire training courses preferred
- Hands-on experience overseeing onboarding programs
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of personal organization
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal communication
