About the company:

Ever.green is a climate startup based in Seattle on a mission to accelerate the transition to clean energy by bringing corporate capital to renewable energy projects. We are building a marketplace for investment tax credits that fund clean energy projects, through which tax credit buyers can make a financial return, and long-term contracts for high-impact Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) that help stand up new solar projects on dirty grids so buyers can meet their sustainability goals. Both of these solutions flow capital to clean energy projects that need it, speeding up financing and deployment, and ultimately reducing reliance on fossil fuels. We’re a small, nimble team made up of energy executives, tech veterans, designers, and software engineers. We’re lucky to be supported by amazing investors, and we are excited to be growing our team. 

About the role:

As the Head of Tax Credits & Capital Markets, you will act as Ever.green's domain expert for renewable energy project finance, with a focus on tax credits and deal structuring. In this cross-functional role, you will coordinate closely with the Ever.green’s Product team to build-out our new renewable energy tax credit marketplace in line with the IRA and industry best practices. Similarly, you will partner with both the head of Sales & Supply to ensure they have the information they require to educate, onboard, and support our users. As an early team member, you will have the ability to make a significant impact beyond your specific job responsibilities, and help shape Ever.green’s overall trajectory. We’re a small team and we all wear many hats, so teamwork and collaboration is essential. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with project finance experience and/or tax experience who is passionate about sustainability and clean energy, and wants to make a huge impact on a startup in its pivotal stages.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project financing efforts for new solar projects and oversee renewable energy tax credit transactions through Ever.green’s platform
  • Develop and maintain Ever.green’s project finance and corporate financial models 
  • Innovate on new financing structures for renewable energy projects and Ever.green’s additionality models
  • Become an expert in new tax legislation, especially surrounding the Inflation Reduction Act
  • Partner with Product to build in key IRA / tax credit requirements directly into our software and platform
  • Advise Ever.green clients on tax incentives and structures when necessary 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of clean energy project finance, tax equity, and/or tax credit transactions
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and experience with financial modeling
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally 
  • Comfort with thinking outside the box and bringing creative financing ideas to the table
  • Decisiveness and flexibility in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and with external stakeholders and clients
