Head of Platform Operations

This is a unique opportunity to lead Adyen’s Platform Operations team. Adyen’s Platform Operations team works with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify and drive forward operational excellence initiatives. The team is responsible for all customer communication for platform incidents and product changes and an integral team in our incident management processes.

In this role, you will get the freedom to drive Adyen’s Platform Operations team into the future with the goal to continue providing top customer service experience for our clients as we grow.

What you’ll do

  • Guide a team of Operations Specialists from example and pulling from your experience. Find, hire, train and coach new team members as required
  • Define the Platform Operations team’s strategy and take ownership of the team goals and responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the quality of our internal and external communication for platform incidents and platform/product changes
  • Serve as a feedback loop for the organization, gathering customer feedback, tracking the evolution of customer needs, communicating these to product and management teams and collaborating with different internal stakeholders
  • Become an active and trusted member of Adyen’s scalability and stability initiatives. Take the initiative on internal and external communication for the most relevant initiatives and milestones
  • Own Adyen’s Operational Excellence initiatives. Drive meaningful change through influence, and communicate progress to different audiences, whether company wide metrics, or senior management updates
  • Drive the ongoing growth and automation of internal incident management processes and procedures
  • Serve as an escalation point and take ownership in the most difficult conversations with our clients

Who you are

  • You have proven and solid experience in a similar role.
  • You have experience managing and guiding a team.
  • You have great communication skills. People will often praise you about your written and presentation skills.
  • You are a data driven person. You excel at using hard data to drive decision making.
  • You proactively identify improvement opportunities and have demonstrated ability to drive these projects to completion.
  • You are a highly motivated team player where winning is more important than ego and collaboration is the key.
  • You are a positive person and are able to create and maintain a great team atmosphere.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or similar is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English is a strong requirement. Other languages are a plus.
