About the role:

Build a world-class brand and communications function at Agility Robotics, ensuring adoption of Agility’s products among customers, and awareness among investors and talent. Engage closely with stakeholders for different aspects of company communications: the CCO for voice of the customer; CEO on business vision; Head of People on culture, engagement, and recruiting; CTO on technical vision, brand, and industrial design; and the rest of the leadership team as needed for additional communication and marketing priorities.

About The Work:

  • Lead the process to develop and share Agility’s narrative far and wide, as told by founders and other company leadership.
  • Align on brand and use as a foundation for our storytelling. Cultivate, refine, and use a coherent set of brand guidelines to support brand consistency across all platforms and communications.
  • Lead a team that creates  and publicly shares memorable, on-brand content that captivates our key audiences, including customers, talent, press, investors and the public at large. Work with internal and external resources to produce video, imagery, written content, and social media content. 
  • Engage with media: Develop relationships with key media on behalf of Agility Robotics, and drive an ongoing drumbeat of coverage.
  • Support company leadership in responding to inquiries and preparing for interviews or other events.
  • As Agility grows, lead the process for effective internal communications. Show strong employee engagement, and satisfaction from employees on internal communications and transparency.
  • Facilitate the communication of Agility’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Partner with the people organization on comms related to talent acquisition and culture initiatives. 

 About You: 


  • Ensure efficient, effective execution: lead our small team to achieve big things; triage and prioritize effectively.
  • While executing rapidly on current comms needs, build the organization necessary to meet increasingly ambitious execution goals. Hire specialists to generate the necessary content; work with outside agencies as appropriate for one-off or specialty tasks. 
  • Keep the communications efforts and team focused on our big priorities, while being appropriately responsive (via triage) to short-term needs and goals. 
  • Instill a sense of passion and excitement about the company’s mission, and ensure that comes through in our communications.


You Have:

  • Have 15+ years of experience leading teams in content marketing, technical communication, journalism, and related fields.
  • Have led a team through a growth-stage startup company, world-building and serving all functions and building a team as necessary. 
  • Possess demonstrated excellence in written communication.
  • Possess demonstrated excellence in building and leading a team that creates top-quality content: web, video, blog, graphics, etc.
  • Be naturally collaborative, and get excited about the team’s success and your role in making it happen.
  • Bring a network of contacts including media and industry professionals to leverage for broad reach in telling Agility’s story
  • Have a bias for action and remain nimble, with a demonstrated track record of generating impactful marketing on a startup’s budget. 
  • Have demonstrated talent for conducting in-depth research. You’re a pro when it comes to preparing an interview, making the most of your time with a subject matter expert, researching primary sources, and scouring the web.
  • Feel passion and curiosity for technical content, robotics, and communicating their place in the world.
  • Provide big-picture context: coming from experience in large organizations, viewing communications through a strategic lens. Able to participate in business conversations, understand the various influences on the product direction, customer need, engineering reality, and public perception.
