A Day in the Life:

As the Head of Global Tax Provision, this leadership role will oversee the tax provision pillar responsible for the preparation of the quarterly and annual worldwide global tax provision. You will work with key stakeholders in Finance and Accounting to drive accurate public company reporting and calculations to ensure that all public company reporting are met. This role will report to the Global Head of Tax.

 

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • This individual will lead a team of tax professionals to account for all aspects of global tax accounting and reporting, including calculating the effective tax rate, current and deferred tax provisions, taxes payable, reconciliation of tax accounts, and return to provision adjustments. This includes review and oversight of the overall global impact of US and international inputs in quarterly and annual tax provisions, including FDII, 163(j) calculations, GILTI and BEAT.
  • Oversee global effective tax rate analysis and review tax components of the company’s SEC reporting and footnote disclosures (10Q and 10K), as well as ownership of tax memos regarding uncertain tax positions, realization of deferred tax assets and documenting the tax implications of various transactions. 
  • Identify tax implications in various transactions and model impact on various alternative scenarios, identify technical tax issues based on transactions that could impact the Company’s tax expense and advise management accordingly. This includes supporting tax planning initiatives and finding opportunities for tax rate and cash tax savings, and working with the Tax Planning Director on income tax implications on transactions
  • Accountability in maintaining compliance of key Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and ensuring that the tax team’s tax accounting processes, documentation and related systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements
  • This role will collaborate with business leaders within the company, including accounting, treasury and FP&A (forecasting cash taxes and ETR), legal, and external advisers
  • Support tax team in creating a climate that fosters professional development and establishes a structure to build a strong tax accounting and reporting pillar. Identify current and future talent needs, assess strengths and gaps, and put development strategies in place
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and coordination with external consultants, advisors, and auditors. 

 

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of overall tax experience with background in a Big 4 public accounting firm and publicly traded corporate in-house environment 
  • Solid technical knowledge of US corporate income tax principles
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 principles and experience in leading the global reporting of quarterly income tax accounting and related disclosures, including, GAAP and Non-GAAP reporting, GAAP to Statutory and Statutory to Tax adjustments and experience working with legal entity forecasting.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret complex problems/data gathered from a variety of sources and through effective decision-making and planning, deliver superior business solutions.
  • Possess strong communication skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse audience at multiple levels within the organization to operate within a complex tax environment and support multiple internal and external customers and various stakeholders.

 

Additional Strengths:

  • Experienced with modeling the prospective financial impacts of various tax laws, proposals and positions to provide insights to ETR impacts, identify solutions and planning opportunities.

Depending on the position offered, equity, and other forms of incentive compensation (as applicable) may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to dental, vision, and other benefits.
