The Environmental Specialist II helps ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as Ursa Major’s policies and procedures related to environmental permitting and compliance. This position will also support environmental monitoring and reporting. The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist II will work with teams across the business to take a proactive approach to safety and process. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for personal and environmental safety while also taking a team-focused approach to solving safety concerns and maintaining systems.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is to develop a comprehensive environmental program
Partner with engineering and operations to review and documents processes in compliance with PSM and environmental compliance
Develop, review and submit various environmental reports as required by permits and regulations
Ensure compliance with RCRA LQG regulations
- SAA and Contingency Planning
Oversee APEN and air permitting requirements
Assist audits and audit tracking of environmental compliance across the site
Act as administrator for EHS Management System
Create engaging, cohesive actions to engage all team members on environmental compliance
Develop, review and submit various environmental reports as required by permits and regulations
Maintain the SDS database and support new chemical approvals.
Engage with LEPC for emergency planning
Generate waste stream profiles and coordinate with TSDF for disposal
Develop, review and submit various environmental reports as required by permits and regulations.
Bring a sustainable, eco-friendly, and unique approach to tackling site challenges

Preferred Experience:

4+ years in an EHS role at a company producing waste, managing chemicals, etc.
Passion to keep safety an important part of Ursa’s culture, not just check the box.
Thorough understanding of EPA – RCRA, CAA, CWA
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
Demonstrated experience with owning and deploying trainings.
Hands on experience with equipment, preferable in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $80,000- $110,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
