What You’ll Do Here

The Director of SEM will own & create SEM strategy and tactics, owning all Paid Search ad channels, SEM ad copy, landing pages and communicating performance to our executive council. Your entrepreneurial and independent thinking will drive your success in optimizing campaigns for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. You are data driven, product minded, curious and comfortable taking informed risks and testing hypotheses.

  • Responsible for defining, developing, and executing an effective paid search marketing strategy such as executing automated bidding, building systems for millions of keywords, audience building and landing pages.
  • Manage small team of campaign, data and paid search specialists to implement and execute your strategies
  • Assess campaign performance, drive insights, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive incremental business impact through optimization and growth.
  • Continuous optimization of bid strategies and A/B testing of headline, copy, extensions, placement, and landing pages to maximize conversion rates.
  • Discover and capture new growth opportunities in SEM based on data mining and quantitative analysis, and execute on ideas to drive growth, traffic and engagement.
  • Partnering with data science, product, engineering and design, lead the ideation and execution of product improvements which can drive growth.
  • Define use cases to drive product changes.
  • Identify new channel opportunities and update strategies based on developments in the Search Landscape.
  • Partner with senior leaders and executives to ensure the strategy aligns with the overall company-wide initiatives and long-term objectives.
  • Assume top-level responsibility for $MM budget including monthly forecasting of spend and ensuring that PPC accounts remain profitable to the business.
  • Delivering reports, insights, and forecasts that accurately measure channel performance, based on incrementally and efficiency.

What you Bring

  • 3+ years of experience planning and executing director level SEM/Digital Marketing Strategies management experience
  • Developed and executed a data driven SEM execution strategy
  • Ran SEM experiments with wins and losses
  • Expert knowledge of SEM plus deep understanding of and passion for the digital advertising space including Google Tag Manager
  • Proficient in keyword planning, account set up, smart bidding strategy (CPA, ROAS, enhanced CPC, portfolio bidding, target impression share), audience targeting, demographic and device segmentation
  • Experience running multivariate tests, calculating significance, reporting results and making sound recommendations
  • Experience with SQL (not necessarily expert-level)
  • Exceptional experience with Google Ads and Google Analytics
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
The following compensation information is provided to comply with job posting disclosure requirements in Colorado, New York, Washington, and California.
Pay Range: $150,000.00 - $210,000.00. Base pay will vary depending on several factors, such as the position, location, qualifications of the individual, market conditions, and other operational business requirements.
