About The Role:

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Director, Analytics will be responsible for building the data and analytics-based frameworks for strategies across Product and Marketing as well as other functions within the company. This person will be working very cross functionally to drive a highly customer-centric and data-driven approach to growth. 

The Director, Analytics will be a key driver of the company’s trajectory in the coming years, shaping the landscape of the increasingly technology enabled logistics industry. We will consider candidates from the following states: California, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington.

 What You'll Do:

  • Build and operationalize a long term strategy for analytics and insights at NEXT Trucking; establish a charter and best practices for the Analytics organization.
  • Oversee dashboards & KPIs to develop well-organized and insightful reports and other forms of data visualization to support business awareness and decision-making.
  • Lead strategic discussions at the executive leadership and develop data-informed business strategies to drive growth.
  • Develop and lead processes to understand customer wants and needs from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective; host customer forums, conjoint analysis, and develop loyalty programs.
  • Lead the development of statistical and machine learning models where applicable for both internal use and for deployment on the marketplace and SaaS products.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with the entire organization including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
  • Ensure that the data is well trusted by the organization and its key stakeholders by developing, tracking, and enforcing consistent data definitions and assumptions across KPI metrics and reporting.
  • Analyze product and user data in collaboration with the Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to create the best product experiences across NEXT Trucking’s businesses.
  • Establish and lead reporting automation processes across the organization using modern tools and technologies.
  • Build robust models and performance measurement processes, with a focus on customer segmentation, to drive user engagement, growth, and profitability for the business.
  • Coach and mentor the team to adopt appropriate analytical approaches to improve predictability and build strategies with high degree of relevance, accuracy and scalability.
  • Hire, scale, and develop an agile, world class analytics and insights team; motivate and empower teams to overcome challenges by creating clear expectations and developing career paths for individual growth.
  • Build data-supported strategies to drive revenue optimization, monetization and pricing
  • Proactively and constructively question status quo, influence change within the organization to enable growth.
  • Own the storytelling – communicate powerfully and effectively to partners and stakeholders.

 What You'll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in Analytics and Marketing; 10+ years of experience overall.
  • Stellar written, verbal, and presentation skills with an ability to translate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep analytical abilities and experience improving performance in key operating metrics, specifically but not limited to: sales analytics, acquisition, retention, and monetization insights, as well as customer segmentation.
  • Strong analytical/data/modeling skills; able to synthesize business requirements and questions, source and analyze data, build conclusions, and articulate actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with visualization tools and report development, dashboard creation, pivot tables, and data analytics. Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar tools.
  • Preference for candidates with ML-modeling or applied AI experience
  • Experience influencing executive leadership teams in B2B SaaS environments, ideally in the marketplace domain.
  • Experience building and implementing growth strategies at scale across different functions within an organization.
  • Highly self-aware, collaborative, and open to feedback.
