Job Summary
Kairos Power is looking for an highly motivated Construction Management Specialist to join the Facilities Engineering department. This individual will support with tasks related to the design and construction of new industrial facilities, an office building, machine and concrete foundations, utility expansion, and continual retrofitting of existing facilities. The successful candidate will be expected to have civil engineering or construction experience and be able to quickly apply design tools, work processes, standards, and practices to current and future Kairos Power projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation, selection, and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for site development projects
- Review and evaluate engineering calculations and drawings
- Prepare scope of work and supporting documentation for design and construction
- Utilize civil engineering software packages and computer-aided drafting software
- Interface with maintenance and manufacturing personnel, various engineering disciplines, vendors, suppliers, local agencies, design consultants, and contractors
- Learn and utilize applicable building and design codes
- Participate in both design and construction meetings
- Learn and utilize permitting requirements related to the City of Albuquerque and Mesa Del Sol Community
- Perform construction observation and reporting
- Coordination and scheduling of construction activities
- Cost tracking and estimating
- Delivering presentations and reports of work performed
- Maintain a broad understanding of the Kairos Power building infrastructure in Albuquerque
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or similar discipline is preferred
- PE license in State of New Mexico or EIT certificate is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with CAD software/civil engineering design tools is a plus but not required
- Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary projects to accomplish objectives
- Experience in managing priorities and timelines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work with highly collaborative team and proven team player working with various teams
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
- Prioritizes and ensures safety of one self and others
- Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
- Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues
