About the role

Meter’s mission is to make businesses more productive and secure through providing best-in-class internet infrastructure. The Sales team is responsible for driving growth of Meter’s business, building relationships with organizations of all sizes and in all industries, and helping companies understand the value of Meter — in addition to providing critical feedback for our product and engineering teams.

We are looking to grow our Business Development Representative (BDR) team. As a BDR, you will help scale our outbound lead generation efforts to drive new business and the adoption of Meter’s vertically integrated platform. We are looking for people who are excited to work on complex problems, enjoy learning and working with others, and above all, are kind and ambitious. This is a hybrid role based out of our SF office. Our in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday. 

You will have an impact by

  • Generating leads for Meter’s account executive team through effective outreach to target accounts 
  • Researching and discovering new companies for Meter to target, and guiding the team to effectively engage those companies through targeted outreach via phone, email, direct mail, and participation at in-person events.
  • Partnering closely with the Account Executive and Marketing teams to expand Meter’s reach
  • Developing a strong grasp of Meter’s product platform in order to articulate Meter’s value proposition to target personas
  • Continuously refining outreach collateral (e.g., call scripts, email sequences) based on feedback and performance from colleagues 
  • Leveraging tools such as Salesforce, Outreach and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to manage and track lead generation, helping the team learn and adapt to new tools, where needed.
  • Executing against quarterly/biannual/annual targets for lead generation
  • Meter prioritizes documentation – you will help document how we plan to operate as a more mature BDR function
  • Building out our core outbound sales processes, informed through the strategic application of personalization and automation at scale
  • Partnering with Marketing, Product, Engineering and Customer Success teams to create great experiences for our current and prospective customers

We are striving to build a high performing team with a diverse range of experience. We are open to considering individuals early in their career who don’t yet have outbound BDR/SDR experience. For candidates with BDR/SDR experience, we are looking for strength in the aforementioned traits, as well as the following domain expertise:

  • Experience as a top-performing member of your company’s outbound BDR/SDR team, preferably with some of that experience for a high-growth B2B technology company
  • Fluency with using CRM tools, preferably Salesforce, as your source of truth for reporting
  • Experience using a sales communication platform such as Outreach or an equivalent to communicate with prospective customers across email, call and social platforms

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows

  • $70,000 - $99,000
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to earn commissions and to participate in Meter’s equity plan.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the Bay Area. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience.
