Job Description

The Business Development Analyst will operate in a fast-moving environment, managing a variety of diverse client issues and delivering innovative solutions that help improve business processes, maximize technology investments, and mitigate risks.

The Business Development Analyst will work with upper management to build and implement business strategies. They will collect and analyze business information, formulate, and test hypotheses, lead financial status and projections, manage our contracts, and develop and communicate business recommendations to upper management. In some cases, you will be asked to travel to client sites. 

Candidates are expected to be self-starters and passionate problem solvers, with excellent interpersonal skills and the natural ability to form trusted partnerships with senior leaders, clients, and cross-functional teams. You can easily read balance sheets and P&L statements and are excited to dig into the details of financial modeling. You're exceptional at multi-tasking, communication, and renowned for getting things done - with high quality.

Responsibilities

  • As a Business Development Analyst, you will be responsible for uncovering and sharing critical insights that will shape our roadmaps and AI platform! You’ll be working directly with the CEO and Rhombus executive team.
  • You will work closely with product, program, engineering, and marketing teams to scale our insights and reporting infrastructure to enable more data-driven decisions.
  • Business Insights: Conduct impactful analyses on major revenue/ market and product trends, including vertical/sub-vertical performance, product adoption, leading revenue indicators, productivity and sales effectiveness across our client landscape.
  • Rhythm of the business: Design and execute on standard cadence of operations (e.g., forecasting, revenue and operational KPI reviews, key accounts/ partner segment reviews) to inform management with actionable feedback on state of the business and opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning: Design and drive planning activities with the primary objective of enabling sales and partnership leadership to make effective, analytically-driven and strategic operating decisions to drive and sustain growth.
  • Performance Management: Define and analyze product metrics and KPIs related to identify opportunities for our products to drive increased customer conversion, retention, engagement and lifetime value.
  • Automation and efficiency: Review and advise on standard protocols and tools/dashboards that can be scaled centrally.
  • Contract Management: Work closely with program managers, finance, legal, HR, and other functional groups in managing contracts to achieve strong client satisfaction, resolve contractual issues, manage billing and invoicing, and support business development efforts.
  • Strategic projects and initiatives: Execute critical projects and initiatives with cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • In conjunction with business owners, provide guidance in developing strategic partnerships by assessing viability and return on investment.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, BA/BS in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or related field)
  • At least 3 years of work experience (or 1+ years with MBA/ Master’s degree) in an analytical role such as product or sales analytics, business intelligence, sales operations, business operations and/or strategy/financial consulting, particularly in a technology company.
  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills, ability to solve complex and diverse business problems (commercial, operational, organizational).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate broad questions into structured analysis and craft narratives and actionable insights from data.
  • Prior experience in federal contract negotiation and management.
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. tableau).
  • Understanding of organizational dynamics, operating experience with large and complex organization.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates that have previous experience in working in the AI/ML sector are highly desired.
  • Candidates that have a strong leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting are highly preferred.
