Working hours: Part time or Full timeWe are seeking dedicated and skilled Band 4, 5 or 6 Locum Histologist to join our clients team in West Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals at various levels of experience to contribute to the delivery of high-quality histology services. The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic and research activities, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of histological analyses.
What will your responsibilities be:
As a Locum Histologist, you will be responsible for preparing and examining tissue samples to identify abnormalities and assist in the diagnosis of diseases. Your duties will include processing and embedding tissue specimens, cutting sections using microtomes, and staining slides for microscopic examination. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records, adhere to quality control protocols, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. You will collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to provide timely and accurate results, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the histology department.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist (for Band 5 and 6)
- Relevant qualification in Biomedical Science or a related field
- Experience in histology techniques and procedures
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software
- Strong understanding of quality control and assurance processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
