Accounts Payable Specialist - Element Biosciences

Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for the research and clinical markets. The Company's technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare.

As the AP Specialist, reporting to the Accounts Payable Manger, you will provide financial, administrative and clerical support by managing the day-to-day invoice payment cycle in a timely manner by receiving, processing, verifying invoices and processing payments. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, with an ability to communicate well with other departments and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage the inflows and outflows of the Accounts Payable Outlook Inbox for A/P team
• Process high volume invoices in NetSuite using 3-way matching and electronic record keeping
• Review purchasing transactions to confirm correct account coding, pricing, and tax classification
• Obtain proper approvals for payment and ensure company policies are enforced
• Assist with processing weekly payments to meet payment terms and budgeted cash outflows
• Reconcile discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
• Audit and review employee expense and credit card reimbursements in Concur
• Assists with vendor onboarding to maintain the integrity of vendor files and documents, such as W-9's and W-8BEN to ensure compliant, complete, and accurate information
• Manage vendor credit application
• Assist with annual audit and 1099 preparation and reporting
• Support monthly close by analyzing the A/P aging and preparing month end accruals
• Responsibilities include ensuring A/P processes operate smoothly, recommending process improvements, resolving the escalation of issues and vendor inquiries, and collaborating with colleagues on special projects that support business

Requirements

• AA/BA degree or equivalent work experience within an Accounting department
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable
• Experience using accounting software- NetSuite and Concur a plus
• Incredible level of organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable team player; no task is too big or too small
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• General knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of internal accounting controls
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting

BASE COMPENSATION PAY RANGE: $65,700 – $76,700

In addition to base compensation, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
