Accounting Manager - GL - Two Six Technologies

Two Six Technologies is growing and we are seeking a GL Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations within a government contracting environment. You will be responsible for participating heavily in the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supervising daily accounting activities including account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, customer payments, credit card reconciliations, and vendor management.

This is a hybrid position working from our Herndon, VA office two days per week.

 What you will do:

• Lead the team in the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Record and apply customer payments
• Perform credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed
• Oversee vendor setup, ensuring compliance with internal controls and required documentation
• Record and apply vendor payments.
• Handle inventory accounting functions
• Maintain adherence to DCAA standards, internal policies, and other regulatory requirements
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve internal controls
• Mentor and guide accounting staff, reviewing work for accuracy and compliance

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of overall accounting experience
• 2+ years of recent experience in a government contract accounting environment with strong emphasis on General Ledger accounting
• 1+ years of experience in a supervisory role, with demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff
• Experience with Inventory Accounting
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
• Knowledge of FAR and DCAA compliance
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
• Solid skills with Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with Unanet accounting/ERP system 
• Experience with OneStream for account reconciliations and financial reporting
• Experience with AIM or a comparable Inventory Management System
• Experience working in an manufacturing accounting environment
• Experience improving or automating accounting processes
• Knowledge of SOX compliance
