iRhythm's User Experience (UX) Team

We work hard to bring beautifully crafted experiences in both form and function into the medical device space. Being part of the UX team at iRhythm means bringing the voice of our patients and healthcare professionals to the forefront of conversations about new initiatives and product features. This user-centric mindset frequently drives us out of the office and into the field to learn more about the challenges our users face and the broader context in which our products are used. We enjoy designing mobile apps, websites, hardware, and packaging that embrace these challenges – whether it’s a doctor having a busy day at the hospital or an older adult patient applying a heart monitor at home.

 

About This Role

We are seeking a passionate UX Researcher who wants to improve people's lives through design and technology. You’ll be responsible for developing a deep understanding of our users to ensure our products exceed their expectations while achieving the company’s business goals. You’ll share your knowledge and recommendations with cross-functional teams to help them design and build features across our ecosystem spanning both hardware and software.

You will also contribute to the design process by pairing closely with Product Designers in creating concepts for testing and educating further iteration based on your research findings. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with several project teams within the company to create a shared vision of who our users are and what matters most to them.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute research studies through various methods such as user interviews (in person and remote), surveys, prototype testing, and diary studies.
  • Recruit, screen, and coordinate participants to ensure we have the right participants in our studies.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to identify the best direction for achieving our business goals while delivering on user needs.
  • Confidently and efficiently present your findings and recommendations in compelling ways to obtain buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to create and iterate on concepts based on your research.
  • Build a panel of research participants and devise creative methods to keep them actively engaged.
  • Combine quantitative and qualitative data to determine the success of features during pilots and post-launch

 About You:

Requirements

  • Ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects.
  • Extensive experience conducting contextual inquiries and user interviews.
  • Understanding of localization best practices and research methods.
  • Expert in creating research deliverables such as plans, discussion guides, decks, video, infographics, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong ability to synthesize and communicate ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Experience participating in product roadmap and project planning discussions.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience integrating user research into product design practices, preferably in the medical device or health and wellness domain.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time to conduct user research (post-COVID restrictions).
