Job description

About iRhythm

iRhythm Technologies is a San Francisco-based medical device company that is combining novel diagnostic devices with advanced data analysis concepts to create a new approach to cardiac rhythm monitoring. The products we design shorten patients’ paths to diagnosis and improve their quality of life -- to date, iRhythm’s innovative and clinically proven service has been used by over a million patients.

About Our Co-op

Engineers at iRhythm work passionately to deliver innovative solutions that improve the quality of healthcare and the patient experience. As a Co-op at iRhythm, you will contribute directly to testing and validation efforts for our wearable bio-sensors, collaborating alongside a team of multi-disciplinary engineers experienced in bringing medical devices to market. You will be treated as a regular member of the engineering team, inclusive of the associated projects, deliverables and accountability.

Due to the global pandemic, our team is currently working remote but ideally (and pandemic allowing), this position would transition into an on-site position in our San Francisco, California office.

About You

You are an enthusiastic electrical or biomedical engineering student who is interested in cutting edge product design and the medical device space.  You will gain exposure to the engineering groundwork required to release and manufacture Class 2 compliant devices in the medical device industry. Your tasks will be to characterize, test, and debug PCB (printed circuit board) devices and test systems to support our current and next-generation product line. You have excellent technical, written, and verbal skills, love to solve problems, appreciate feedback, and feel satisfied once you collected data to back up your ideas.

Desired Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in electrical, biomedical, or a similar engineering discipline
  • Comfortable analyzing and debugging electrical circuits, with underlying strength in math and physics
  • Understanding of basic statistical principles
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment: multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
  • Experience with a scripting language for analyzing and plotting data (Python a plus)
  • Experience with automating measurement equipment a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision
  • Positive attitude

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Co-op

As a part of our core values, we ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome and celebrate people of all backgrounds, experiences, skills and perspectives. iRhythm Technologies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (M/F/V/D). Pursuant to San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment all qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Make iRhythm your path forward.
