Job description

Position Description: 

This position is responsible for various review, lead support and analysis for the global Revenue Accounting team at Anaplan. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and knowledge of accounting and revenue operations at a fast paced growing company. The candidate must have strong organization and communication skills, be flexible in working with multiple points of contact and be proactive in finding solutions to various queries. The person will review subscription and services contracts for proper ASC 606 revenue recognition treatment and billings and remaining performance obligation accuracy. They will lead our internal and external audit cycles and internal and external reporting and analysis related to revenue and key top line metrics. They will also identify and support order to cash and revenue operational process improvements.


  • Assist in daily subscription contract review (order forms, master agreements, partner agreements, etc.) to ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with US GAAP under ASC 606
  • Partner with Legal, Sales Operations, Deal Desk and Order Management to handle sales deal related requests
  • Assist in monthly revenue close activities including account reconciliations, flux analyses and generation of journal entries to ensure timely and accurate revenue reporting
  • Assist in maintaining and updating documentation for revenue policies and procedures
  • Assist in managing external audit, including preparation and ongoing support
  • Ensuring SOX compliance with key controls, accurate GAAP reporting and fulfilling internal and external reporting requirements
  • Support scaling our processes through automation by working on system implementations and enhancements, including the utilization of Anaplan for the accounting team
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned


  • BS/BA degree from a top tier school (Accounting, Finance or Economics)
  • Minimum three (3) - five (5) years industry
  • Big 4 experience (audit) preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes.
  • Positive and upbeat personality to work in a dynamic environment with all levels of management and functions
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Prior experience with SaaS company is a plus
